Beautiful condition and appeared totally stock. I was impressed.. Shame I was waiting for a bus into town! Rgds, Keith.

I'll be taking the Kakimoto off my N/A shortly, possibly even this weekend. Put it on about 6 months ago. Bought it from Ryan G (2bartuning) and paid £220 posted. Stainless pipework and box but mild steel flanges. All still in good useable condition, but rather loud. Only selling as I need to free up some funds.. Could be just what you're after? Rgds, Keith.

Master Warning Light ON after Soldering R/H Warning Cluster..
Klank replied to Klank's topic in mkiv Technical
Well I checked the fuses upon getting home from work. They're all fine, even checked those under the bonnet, just to make sure. I removed the warning light cluster again and fitted one of the good bulbs into the ABS switch, reconnected the rest to find the ABS light staying on, even when the engine is started. I was going to do another diagnostic with this one in place, but then the heavens opened. If the ABS picks up an error, would this flash up as a problem? It's really beginning to annoy me now. Think I'll get onto Keron and see if he's got any spare clusters lying about, just in case i've damaged the board somehow. The solder itself is all tidy, but theres some gloss kind of marks on the board where the heat has got to it. Really hope to get this sorted. Any advice will be much appreciated.. Rgds, Keith. -

Pretty good point, Neo. Perhaps the ECU believes the stock alarm is still present and has been tampered with. I'll start looking at fuses later on and hope for the best. It's another route to go down anyway. Rgds, Keith. -
Master Warning Light ON after Soldering R/H Warning Cluster..

Been outside fault finding and just a quick one to note.. Used a paperclip to see if any fault codes have been stored; el zilcho. Checked the brake fluid sensor and level, all seems fine. Boot and all doors are closed properly and handbrake is OK too. All warning lights appear to be fine, barring the ABS, as it doesn't have a bulb fitted.. Could this simply be the issue, or is it to do with starting the car with the odometer removed? I'm pleased but surprised it hasn't came up with a fault. Back to the drawing board I guess.. Hope one of you technical guru's out there can work your magic. Rgds, Keith. -
Master Warning Light ON after Soldering R/H Warning Cluster..
Klank posted a topic in mkiv Technical
Good morning, all.. I come to you in times of need. I was soldering the pins on the right hand warning cluster last night, which were previously only coming on if you whacked the dash. Firstly, I noticed I only had 3 bulbs; low oil level, low oil pressure and the check engine light. I was missing a bulb for the ABS. I'm quite handly when it comes to soldering, so got the job done quickly. I just done all the pins for the sake of it, and after testing the light cluster, it was working fine. This morning however, the master warning light won't go off when the handbrake is down. I've not had this issue before. Could it have something to do with a missing bulb in the right hand warning cluster, not completing the circuit? I've done a search and can't seem to find anything specific, other than the main triangle warning light can also refer to low brake fluid and speedo convertor failure? Both of which, I know to be alright.. Also, I read it may have something to do with starting the car with the odometer disconnected? Anyone else had something similar come about? Hope to get this sorted ASAP. Cheers in advance for any advice. Rgds, Keith. -
I too wouldn't mind a stock tail trim. Been looking on evilBay, but the slash cut 3" dia don't look right, and they aren't cheap. Available from Mr. T perhaps?

That's an awesome piece of kit you've got there. Looking to downsize from the Supra in the next month or so, but i don't expect this one to hang around for long. However, if it's still kicking about in about 6 weeks time.. Yes please. Best of luck with the sale.

Thanks for the input, Nic. I would go to a dealer, but I'm not after the compression rings, I need one of the standard metal gaskets, such as this one. I just need to know if the bolt centres are correct. Rgds, Keith.

Good morning, all. Firstly, I apologise for such an unsophisticated technical query, but I'm having a bit of chew finding the correct ones. I've had a good search but can't find the answer I'm looking for. I've fitted a Kakimoto Racing cat-back to my N/A which still has the second cat fitted. I used the old compression ring and got a very tight seal to the cat, which isn't blowing. My problem is the gasket between the centre pipe and backbox. I cleaned up the flanges and measured the bore of the pipe, but it's closer to 2 3/4". I got some gaskets off eBay suitable for 2 1/2" which were inevitably a bit too small. Are the standard flanges 3" on the N/A? I snipped the edges off the 2 1/2" gasket just to get me away, but it's not getting a good seal and blows a fair bit. I'm expecting to hear, "get the 3" gasket off eBay, you numpty!" But any info would be appreciated. Regards, Keith.

Dibs'd, via PM, hopefully. Waiting on further instruction should Ryan decide to go ahead with a deal.

Wouldn't mind seeing a few photos myself.

Many thanks for the advice, everyone. And cheers for the kind words and sneaky bump, Andy! Quick update: I've had the car on axle stands today, where a more mechanically minded mate and I had a good nosey around at all the suspension components etc. Everything seems fine and theres nothing untoward about any of the arms/joints or linkages. All clean and tidy, bushes are all in decent condition. I actually have a receipt from a few years ago for 4 new genuine Toyota dampers and Eibach springs, all in as new condition. However, I did find a good ~4mm of play in the rear offside wheel. So I believe the bearings are the cause of my handling issue. Which makes sense as my XR400 offroader had a very similar problem a few weeks back, again, wheel bearings to blame. Now to price up a solution! Quite surprised it isn't giving any vibrations in the steering wheel or knocking/squeeking. Even if this isn't the problem directly, it requires rectifying nonetheless. Anyhow, time to hit up the search and find the right bearings, then to work on Monday to put our 50 ton press to use! I'll post next week and let you know how it pans out. May be a worthwhile thread for others who have similar problems in the future. Kind regards and all the best for the New Year! Keith

Good afternoon, all. Not very often that I post on here, I'm more of a reader than a contributor, but thats only due to my limited Supra knowledge. Anyhow, I've noticed a fairly sudden change in my N/A Manual's handling, it was literally fine one day, then the next, somewhat twitchy and unsettled when cornering or if I hit a bump in the road, which lets face it, theres plenty of. Now I've had a good look through past threads to find a solution, but I'm hoping someone may be able to point me in the right direction. I'm thinking my own winter driving antics may be to blame for said change in handling. My search has brought up anything from loose front and/or rear subframe bolts, bent arms, knackered dampers/springs, bad tracking, buckled wheels and even poor quality or badly worn tyres. The car tracks straight and true, with no vibrations in the wheel and the suspension doesn't knock. Tyres are only a few months old, Kumho's on every corner with no sign of uneven wear, still running stock 16" alloys which are in very good condition. I instantly checked tyre pressures as soon as I noticed the change and was only a few psi down on each corner. Correctly inflated, it's no different. Basically, the ride seems to be unchanged and would be perfect if not for this issue. So here I am, picking the brains of the forum's finest minds. Is it possible something has twisted/bent/worn as a result of the stress of the car's recent punishment? I checked my VIN plate and the digits indicate it's got a Torsen LSD, but with any luck, this isn't on the way out. I'll be able to get the car to a trustworthy local garage on Monday when I return to work, but I'm hoping someone here may be able to offer more immediate assistance. That being said, I'll be having it put on the ramp regardless. I hope I've made the issue clear enough, but look forward to receiving your advice. Kind regards, Keith.
