Norma Scene! Never got into Coalesce, liked Boysetsfire though. Always reminds me of my mate telling me about this great new band called "Boys in the Well" (turned out to be Poison the Well). We should start a UK-Mkivs metal band lol. I havnt been to gig in ages. Think it was the last Unholy Alliance tour, and before that I think it wouldve been Zyklon. I acquired the new Unearth album the other night. Its ok, not sure how keen I am on it though.

So tempted to scrap the TT conversion plans and save for one of these...

I'd say that DEP and Converge are a different type of brutal. Whilst Im not knocking it technically, the more mathy side of extreme metal has generally got the whole abrasive/calculator sound to it to make it more extreme. Making brutal music that is still based on simpler riffs (no tapping jazz runs and paradiddle drum beats lol) I think is slightly harder. I think how much you like the Converge side of things depends on how you came to extreme metal. I came to it from like Iron Maiden led to Megadeth, that led to Slayer, then to Morbid Angel, then Cannibal Corpse, then Hate Eternal. But if you've come to it from the hardcore side of things you're opinions will be different. And you'll have a silly cap and a spangly belt. Fact. Although you cant beat Panasonic Youth Plus personally, I think the deeper vocals are much more brutal. I agree with having a break from the vocals with clean singing but then it just starts getting a bit metalcore. And no-one wants to sound like As I Lay Dying. That said, it can be done, just takes some talent. Opeth kinda pull it off (when theyre not being boring as fuck). Although with Whitechapel, All Shall Perish, Through the Eyes of the Dead, The Black Dahlia Murder etc you dont actually think "hmm these vocals are getting boring" as they're quite varied. And I see you're DEP and Burnt By The Sun and I'll raise you Guttural Secrete (wont post a link as theyre definitely a bit far into the splatter gore side of things lyrically - not that you can tell haha)

To be fair I kinda like ABR I was just doing a bit of keyboard warrior-ing. No-one noticed the last brutal band I posted was Journey!!!!

Would you consider splitting the HD drive and films?

I used to live with a guy from Shanghai and he was telling me about eating deep fried ants, bee's eggs in a can, duck's beaks, bear's feet. He wasnt singing their praises just telling me about them. He also told me that the less feet something has, the healthier it is (red meat with 4 legs being unhealthy, fish with no legs being healthiest) which made me smile.

I normally like the riveted arches look like the Veilside kit, but as much as Im in love with that particular TS kit, Im not a fan of the exposed rivets, especially when its in a flawless deep shiny grey like that. Maybe if it was a matt finish or in race graphics but its kinda not been thought out. Ah well, its not mine though is it! Someone probably ordered it like that.

Alright guys. Thinking of going with one of these. But Im thinking of getting one of the NRG ones from the US mainly because they do either short bosses or short quick release hubs. So I wouldnt have the wheel too far forwards. I could probably get the short quick release hub and use a standard Supra boss - although thats probably asking for trouble. Any tips? James
