  1. ok pretty much did that , just put another coat on so ill let it be now , see what its like when its totally dry , will it compound to get a better shine. if its not very good ill get my mate to re do it he has a bodyshop , just got a show next week and the mirror was letting it down so thought id have a go myself
  2. ok , couldn't wait lol did that , started with a few light coats , but it don't look very shiny atm , ill stick another on see if that does it , if not ill polish it in a few days
  3. ok guys all going ok atm , one more question , ive put a few coats of paint on starting with a fine mist , its warm in my garage so after a few mins I got up to about 3 coats finishing with a slow thicker final . so its drying nicely , ill leave it about an hour , do I scotch cloth it before I start the laquer coats or just go straight in
  4. thank you , rubbed it down and put some primer on tonight so ill get the paint tomorrow
  5. just checked its only 5.94 for the paint so ill get it tomorrow
  6. ok thank you ill have a look tomorrow its only the upper part of the mirror casing , so I don't want a lot
  7. hi guys been ages on the to do list , my mirror has gone a bit flat so need an aerosol to re paint it , do halfords do the colour , my car is silver , any help appreciated as usual. just had a quick look is it 199, can I get that in halfords
  8. ok will do , thanks for the advice
  9. no not at all mate , just the two different stories puzzled us today , ill see what the fella says at ATS tomorrow , because when I took it back after the first re gas , youd think he would of noticed the condenser in that condition. one thing the fella said today when I asked him about the leak he said its only small although most of the fins have gone , and it wouldn't of showed in the test
  10. ever had the feeling your about to be ripped off , left the car at the garage , two hours later we get a call , all done apparently the system wasn't 100% full up so they extracted it and re gassed it £78, ok we thought not bad , now when we get there we are told a completely different story , this time the condensers gone , and that they never re gased it the lady was wrong to tell us that , new bill £400, when I asked him about the condenser he showed me it through the front grill and 80% of the fins had gone , now had he just poked them out I don't know , especially as he said hed not seen one of these with low miles in thart condition , so what do I think , I think hes messed with the condenser and the girl almost dropped him in shite . anyway being a greedy git hes priced himself out of any repair that we will do , ill look to see how much the condensers are and go from there. ps ill go back to ATS tomorrow and tell him what he said , im sure if the condenser was gone he wouldn't of tried to re gas it twice
  11. just a quick update , again its not cold , so its booked in to a specialist tomorrow , trouble is they could say its anything there arnt many places to take it here so hopefully ill get a decent diagnosis , cost of the check is 37 quid , so fingers crossed its not to expensive to fix , if it is then the old man will probably just leave it
  12. had over 50% off the tool box yesterday
  13. ive just done a deal now in the last hour ,Samsung s8 64 gb , unlim calls/text , 4 gb data £30 / month 2 years
  14. don't know if theres a mistake on the trade cards but ive just had a 350 tool roll cab for 165, fella at the desk thought it seemed odd
  15. no im always a few years behind as I do a 2 year deal each time , got a Samsung s 6 atm not a very good phone , but im looking at the s8 on mobiles .co.uk the deal is the s8 unlimited calls /text 4gb data 23 a month for two years , but this is the funny bit its with Vodafone, and Vodafone cant offer me that deal , the cheapest they do atm starts at 30 a month
  16. guys were brilliant with my old mans car dunk , don't know if you saw the other thread after the regas it went warm within a few days , so thinking there was a leak I took it back no leak fully gassed , so fair play he re did it all fine then it went warm again , so got the car booked in Monday somewhere else to find out whats the problem , and even then he said I can have a refund if I want top service
  17. 34.99 ats with a groupon ticket , full vac out and regas
  18. ok thanks , no rush atm upgrade only became available yesterday, so got plenty of time to make my mind up , appreciate the replies so far
  19. ive been with Vodafone for over 10 years so after todays negative phone call to the sales section ill try the leaving call next and if no joy ill look elsewhere then
  20. I asked her why she couldn't match the deal , she said the customer service would be different , and id have problems if the phone was to develop a fault , all I said to her was if the phone that a fault id either contact you or them same thing , she didn't reply
  21. just a quicky if you would guys , been with Vodafone for years , but prices have been going up , so saw a deal on mobiles .co.uk which I think are carphone warehouse. anyway spoke to Vodafone and they cant match the deal but said it wasn't advised to go with this 3rd party . but the bit im confused with if I go with mobiles .co.uk , its with Vodafone , so how does that work as im already with them
  22. yes total pita , agreed a sale on a tool box fella replies then nothing , sent him numerous messages but no reply , if hes sold it to someone else why doesn't he tell me , one thing that really pisses me off is lack of coms. most of the stuff on there is nicked
