I wont be making this sadly:( my car is still in pieces and my Sunday off is the 18th not the 4th. Hope everyone has a cracking time!

Have taken the calipers off to get powder coated and refurbed (siezed piston in one of them) and came across a couple of things im a little concerned about. think I might need a new rear caliper, hoping to get other opinions. Rear caliper is missing a chunk of metal around the metal screw insert, its actually down to the metal insert so im not sure if its wise to re-use it. Front isnt as bad, still got metal around the insert on the right, but there is a bit missing compared to the other mounting hole on the left. Hope the pictures are clear enough to see, circled the bits im concerned about in green. Cheers

Aye, didn't think there would be much grounds. Certainly not goning to take any sort of legal action or anything, just thought I'd see where I stand. It would have been something I would have done in the future but I would have prefered not to at the moment (going on holiday in a week:d). Thanks again guys

Ok ladies and gents, hoping someone could give me a bit of advice as I can't find much. Took the car for it MOT a few days ago and sadly it failed on 'offside front brake juddering severely'. Spoke to the guy at the time and he said I needed new brake discs and pads and were looking for 400 quid. Wasnt paying that so took it away, bought the parts from Mr T and did the work myself. Went back today after the re-test to be told by a different guy, the brake discs and pads were fine, the problem is the offside brake is binding. Looks like Ive wasted £200 on discs and pads after them telling me I needed them when I didn't. Is there anything I can do? Do I even have a leg to stand on in this situation? Cheers folks

Thank you kind people, seems as there is no set answer to this! Don't imagine there would be much need for one, especially on the drivers side unless it was being used for a constantly on, chav neon effect! I always wondered where all that extra weight came from:lol:

Ive tried searching but I couldn't find what I was looking for:search:..... Anyway, while trying to hunt for all the bulbs I could change from the horrible yellowness to something a little whiter, I noticed I had a bulb in the passenger footwell. Upon investigating why it didn't work, I followed the wires to find someone has chopped of where it had been connected. Now, I cant find the other end of the chopped cable and I also cant find a light on the drivers side. Im going to assume that I should have a drivers side and that both sides were connected together then connected to somewhere else? Can some kind soul confirm this? Ta

Aye, thats my thoughts and why Im a little doubtful of the findings. The flywheel is just a standard flywheel with a strip of metal welded to it with square holes all the way around and thats what the sensor reads so I assume this is the bit that is apparently damaged though I cant think how these could be damaged?! Right, think I might try change the wiring loom first and see where that gets me (thankfully I already have one sitting here).

My Renault Safrane has somehow picked up a really, really bad over-fueling problem:(....so bad in fact, it cant be driven, the thing just doesnt rev when its in gear and your foot is flat on the floor:blink:! Now, after a fair amount of fault finding, Ive been guaranteed that the flywheel is buggered and causing the flywheel sensor to send the ecu wrong info and hence cause the problem. My question is, before I get another flywheel and then proceed to remove the box to get it replaced (this is a fair amount of work id rather not have to do) is there anything else it could be? Reason I ask is apparently when looking around the engine bay, the guy fault finding said he moved part of the wiring loom out the way and it started running properly. Is this something to this or am I just trying to make excuses so I dont have to dismantle the car?

Well, after a couple of weeks of searching and asking questions (seems the only deliveries made by the same van everyday is TNT and the milkman, all the other change according to the drivers), I have decided I probably aint going to get much further:( Soooo, does anybody know of a decent bodyshop in the Fife area they could recommend? Cheers guys and gals

Ive recently changed my shift pattern at work so I now have Sundays off:yahoo:, should be able to make it up to this and hopefully a few other meets and see some faces:D

Hahahaha, yeah that thought had crossed my mind, but its happened to me before with my other car which is why I started doing it in the first place! Im gonna keep my eyes peeled, some customers do use the car park as they're to lazy to walk the extra distance so I may never find the culprit. Most people know me at work because of the car so I would hope it wouldnt be any of my co-workers! Spoke to the boss but as there is no camera over the car park, and so no proof it happened today while it was parked there, they cant and wont help.
-
Parked the car is the staff car park, I also park it across the middle of 2 spaces for this very reason (car park is not very busy) and yet some muppet has still managed to hit my car. Went to speak CCTV and apparently there is no camera covering the staff car park, just the customer one:wtf: think I will be parking my car else where from now now on. Was not a happy chappy when I this and Im not very bodywork minded so I have no idea if its an easy fix:( Doesnt look as though there is much damage done though, chipped and cracked paint work, some of its gone down to whatever is under neath the paint work but that seems to be it.

Aye Johnny, that is the car and the town, usually around the duloch area most of the time

Parked on a drive of the new houses opposite Woodmill High, right round the corner from me:D! Looked to be getting a good clean!! Never seen it around before and I was in a rush having to play taxi:( otherwise I would have stopped. Might take a wee wander round later and get a better look at it.....

I would need to try and sweet talk a co-worker but you can count me in!

Thanks guys, it is a very nice car, well chuffed and quite surprised I managed to get one like it (favourite colour and standard too). A few problems need sorting (couple of tiny marks and the headlights) but the main one is the lacquer peeling of the front. Anybody know of an easy way to sort this? Id also have to agree on the fog comments, not a very nice addition to the car(hideous in fact)!! Picked it up from Blackburn bud, cant remember the name of the place but ill try dig out the receipt.... Cheers
