  1. oh, Nice machine Syed. Sorry we didn't officially meet up, I saw you at Stevenage when you were pulling out, very clean.........
  2. This is the system that most Celicas use......"VVT" From reading the attachment above(couldn't get it on one page, sorry), you will see the difference in the VVT and the new VVTi and the latest VVTlI. Read last paragraph in the attachment. The new set up is very similar to the Honda V-TEC. If you wish I will try to get that one explained as well....... Comments?
  3. Gentlemen, pay attention. toyota vvt.txt
  4. shhhhhhhhh, thats when the hidden Turbo's kick in! Keep it down, don't want the TT guys to know about them.
  5. Hey Syed, I think you need to get your N/A serviced m8.
  6. Can't go wrong with that! Mainly it depends on engine condition and level of tune, mod etc. General plugs can last a very long time!
  7. Alex, sound advise m8.. word for word!
  8. Never really ran any proper 'Timed' runs 1/4 etc against a TT. But have done a few rolling runs and a couple Traffic lt launches against them(stock, mainly Auto's) and acceleration for acceleration was not much difference on a Standing Launch, I had a wee better first into second advantage, then the TT's start to move...... same with rolling runs. They start to pull away, but still not much at all, I was always right there all the way to triple figures...... I have noticed a difference with the BPu TT's, a bit more respect for those babies... 'I am Stock as Fook'! Manual SZ-R
  9. 155 kleptons and counting.......:flame Dev
  10. Meand the car, Welcome to the bbs m8..... Very good info and advise given to you here my friend. My 2 pence would tell you to go get the trany fluid flushed and fresh fluid(correct spec) put in, and to the correct levels. Run the car for a day using all gears, manual mode, reverse etc abit. So as to get the new fluid circulated proper. And hopefully you will be sorted:thumbs: Also while under there doing the fluid cx, have a look for a sensor(temp), see if it can be taken out, if it can, have a general look and a little clean etc before refitting it. I don't have an Auto so can't really tell what exactly to look for, can't think of more than 2 sets of wiring to the trany, so one may be it. This last bit I'm on about the sensor is a shot in the dark here, but as Terminator said, there is a temp sensing devise on the trany, if it's external and replacable 'I don't know'.. But it can't hurt to have a butchers while under the car having the fluid replaced! good luck!
  11. Ian, well put together m8:thumbs:
  12. Chris your mail box is full m8. (pm)
  13. pure quality Mr'lust2luv'.. I also noticed that the TT and N/A go the 'same speed' in traffic:D (supra pilot puts coat on)
  14. 'is it safe to come out'......
  15. Hey bloke, welcome aboard... You are never wasting your time in a Supra, even the N/A. They can be modded quite well to get more 'power'.... It all depends on what exactly you want from it. And it boils down to 2 main factors:--- 1/ How fast do u want it? 2/ Whats your budget? Turbo charging is not the holy grail, remember Formula 1 cars are non turbo and are also 3000cc..... "supra pilot runs for cover from TT guys":twak:
  16. "Excellent Phil!" Will tackle it sometime this week coming and let you guys know the results....... regards:thumbs:
  17. Cheers gents, I am having EXACT same problem with mine. Everything Steve said he experienced is what I have now, and I know it's not suspension! I have a decent trolly jack and a pair of stands, do you reckon I can get under and do it with that gear or need to get her onto a pit or lift? And thankx for the socket sizes and torque settings....... cheers
