  1. Excellant then, as I see you are in the right business of re-finishing cars..... So this is perfect for you! So we will be expecting a cracker when you are all done:thumbs:
  2. Sorry m8, did not mean for it to sound like it was fcked up or anything... just wondering what was up with 'no-front'? Dom I
  3. If you don't mind me asking 'dudersvr'... was it a crashed car you bought(no -front)? Dom
  4. Now sorted! Thanks for all the replies.
  5. Alex, avoid using an engine flush m8...... Dom
  6. Anyone know if the TT & N/A stock air filter(element) are the same, is the part numbers the same? (non vvti j spec) Syed? and if someone has a new one they wanna sell or donate:D , I may know just the buyer. Dom
  7. Good stuff Al, I would like to change mine as well, but I will also be changing springs ..... Keep in touch and let me know how you got on and if they made a difference in ride quality..... Dom
  8. That price sounds good IF it's a good quality shock..... I was quoted recently £110.oo +Vat for a pair of KYB self adjusting(?) gas shocks... Front and rear same price. Find out what brand they are..... Dom
  9. Andrew thats the best advice here m8, give a call to Toyota GB a call... that is the biggest fear for the dealerships as they each get an annual review from the headoffice and if they have 'X' amount of compliants or discrepancies they can lose the franchise or get penalities... Thtas what I scored with, they didn't care if I was going to the local press much as they may reply and claim it was a one off etc. But the headoffice(especially the Japanesse) take these things seriously! Sorry but it is a sore point with me, as I know it happens all over, big company, small company they all try to take advantage of people. They know the average 'joe' won't ever look or investigate the work done after! I know 'I was in the industry'!!!!!!! Dom
  10. If you think you are right that they ripped you off, 'go and get the bastards'! Nissan did the same thing 1year ago on the mothers inlaws car. Massive list of stuff that was done, replaced etc, huge bill for it all. I normally service the car for here but this time it needed to adjust valves etc and I didn't have the time. So she took it to them, got a huge bill and showed me...... I checked the car as I am familiar with it, the bastards did sod all, they charged for plugs, plug leads, oil, ball joint, u name it, NOTHING was done or changed........ they though, ahhh 'elderly single woman' she's never gonna check these things after, lets sting her... I took it back and called the service manager out to the car with bill in hand and asked him to point out the new parts that were said changed on the bill to the car ........ he was quite defensive at first giving me shit....... I walked off and drove away. Came back the next day with a letter I typed up with photos of parts and the bill etc, got the owner of the dealership and told him everything what happened and if this is not sorted right now, these letters are going to 'watchdog', the local paper, and most importantly Nissan UK headoffice! Full refund, full valet, and the service done properly this time, and I stayed and watched it all.............. And this was not just one case, this goes on everyway, everyday! If you believe you can prove it m8, stand up for it!
  11. Hey Nugget calm down a lil...... Whats this obsession with 'Brembo'.. You were on another thread with these brakes before and was told they aren't that fantastic for what you pay for them! Plus there are 2 offers to you so far on standard brake set ups here...... Never rush this, if you need the car, get a set from one of these good people here to get you mobile and then with the time you can properly check out your Brembo or other options for long term. Chill out............
  12. Thats what was starting to happen with mine, the coating(lacquer) was just starting to crack up, so I got some 'caliper' paint at Halfrauds and here's a sample.
  13. Here's a shot of the engine bay so the TT guys can get an idea.
  14. No probs, it was on another link.. Dom
  15. Al, there is NO life span really on most plugs.. I have seen plugs used on cars from 100miles to 100000 miles of use and can still go on. Good design, plugs are. Obviously their charatristics and value will change(degrade) over time and useage, so for better performance(consistant) and function, plugs should be cleaned etc or replaced as necessary. Plugs deterioration is basically down to the state and condition of your engine.. if your engine is burning oil or fuel mixtures not correct, incorrect timing and a few others, these will determine your plug life........ Dom
  16. eh hem Alex? What were you saying m8...... Matt you're the man:thumbs: I can figure out what to remove(it's alot) to get to the plugs, but there are 3 sections to the throttle body and intake manifold to seperate, which carries gaskets joining them..... Thats my worry! I don't want to seperate anything with gaskets etc. in case the gaskets tear or as the usual they are bonded and will need to get feked to remove, in which case I will need to get gaskets, then how available are they, when available, blah blah, blah...... could be unnecessary downtime with the machine, all for the sake of my curiosity and idleness! So what I was mainly after was someone thatsactually done it or seen it etc first hand....... or even just removing the intake and throttle set up section? Thanks again Matt;) Dom
  17. Anyone had the pleasure of changing S/Plugs on an N/A mkIV? Or know exactly whats done? Don't laugh and say it's only plugs, it's a piss..... the N/A's are made up differently to the TT with regard to a simple plug cx. It requires removing the whole of the throttle body plus other bits..... I have not done this myself, but would like too soon just for a check. I would like to know where exactly to remove(sections) on the (throttle body---intake manifold) and if it will require new gaskets(o-rings) on re-fittment etc etc..... Anyone?
  18. Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahaaaaaaaaaaaa,, good one m8;)
  19. Bobbeh, you can buy those 'supra' style stickers from a few places, I know 'FENSPORT' does em..I believe they are made for the calipers..... Dom
  20. Steve, I painted mine recently in Red and Black... Looks much better than standard......much more noticable through the wheels. I did it a bit bodge and still came out pretty decent...... You probably saw them I believe...? I still have some paint(proper stuff) you are welcome to have a go, I may be even available to join in the fun! Dom
  21. Radi caps are all pressure rated for different vehicles. Make sure you get the correct one...... Another thing, if you are not really losing water it maybe your radiator is blocked up!
