I found the Falken 912s not that great for grip in the cold. And the little holes I saw are actually wear indicators for 2mm wear! Maybe should invest in a pair of rear winter tyres - if there's any left in the UK...and second pair of rims.

Just took me 1 hour to get home over a railway bridge hill!! Unamusing. Was using the BMW with new Falken Ziex ZE 912 tyres and in Snow mode. And I dropped the pressures down on the rears. It just got over the bridge hill but only when I gunned it and slewed sideways zigzagging. Anyway checked the tyres and noticed they've got evenly spaced holes in the tread - looks like they will take snow studs! Looked on web but can't find anything about this - anyone know about the Falken 912's and snow studs?

I give mine a tickover till all temperatures are at normal every 2-3 weeks. And it's on trickle charge all the time - as well as work the handbrake! And yes, the interior does get a bit damp...

Been there. Done that. New Year's Eve vigil a few years ago at a haunted pub - The Ancient Forrester in deepest darkest Ascot. Hoping for flying beer glasses skidding across the bar (as reported by bar staff) so I set up an audio recorder on the landing above the bar where my co-investigator was and I kept vigil on the floor in front of the bar all night. Must've dozed off as I was abruptly awakened in darkness by a terrible wailing noise around 0530 on New Year's Day. Noise got worse. And my heart rate went sky high. Till I saw a shadowy grey figure in the dining area bloody well vacuuming. WTF! The muppet was a contract cleaner gettig his jobs done very early. Worse - no smashed glasses near the bar area, and the only sound recorded all night on my mp3 recorder was snoring from my colleague... and a bloody hangover and thumping headache. Fun eh?
