  1. RedM. Paul, I have a fantastic reputation, just not here... Anyway my father has learnt to laugh properly so all is good now. But just in case, I'm ready to leap to his rescue once again.
  2. Different strokes for different folks. I liked the programme "one foot in the grave" very much. My father almost died watching it, with laughter. Had to prise his mouth open so he could breath properly. That would have been some exit.
  3. I agree Rob, it's that peculiar "freak" mix, that holds that fascination and possible fear which people do not understand and then react badly to. Diana had it, then Jade Goody. There was something similiar going on with them - the hype.
  4. Still it's a good point you make Kopite. I think this club ties us people together so we have a natural basic respect for one another despite our differences, and certainly when the greatest leveler of all comes. With fame, and notoriety, and gossip (poor Jacko had it all), scapegoating becomes the norm, we see famous people as legitmate targets, for our own insecurites, amusement or whatever.
  5. It's an emotive and highly personal subject, like what turns you on. Oh this feels so good, but it's so so wrong stylee. It's the unconcious mind versus the rational/ moral one. Unconsious wins hands down every time. Matt, don't know mate, I don't know him or his sense of humour. Michael, no doubt. lol.
  6. Sorry that this has happened to you sounds annoying. Maybe there is a release of information after two years? Not sure how to explain it, desperate financial times so that companies resort to these agressive measures. Very unlike me, but I have begun to lie to unwanted callers, at the door or on the phone. No I am not the homeowner. No I am too busy right now, could you call back tomorrow at five? It's going against my principles but just saves some time and effort. Delete yourself from the marketing lists.
  7. Even the pope is not without sin, and he would be the first to tell you that matt.
  8. Haha, yeah caseys, In sri-lanka we have durian all over the place. The funny thing is , as you know, it was designed to smell like excrement for some reason - God knows why. But when you eat it (the fruit) it actually tastes quite nice. Actually I have no memories of eating that fruit on my last visit. And I think I rememer actually turning it down. My loss I'm sure. Budda's hand looks scary. Would not want that in my mouth. Just had a lushous peach, perfectly ripe. You know that 5 min window that you get, before they go mouldly, and just after they are too hard.
  9. Thank you Charlotte, but I was making a wider point about parents of abused kids in general. But sure, there's a time and a place for that. Let's get that beat it link sorted.
  10. Normally I think you are right Charlotte. People who have had their children abused want justice for their children, and want to fight for that. But then that would not always happen, some parents might wish to cover it up for their own reasons, pehaps they felt responsible, or a not good enough parent for letting it happen. Received wisdom is that the parent would always fight for justice to imprision the abuser of their child. But I wonder what the stats are, how many fight, and how many conveniently let it slip by unnoticed. Sadly the beat it link did not work for me, was kind of looking forward to that one.
  11. Well said MikeyB, what you say I feel is the truth, but who am I to know. Kopite I have a close affinity with liverpool, and it's people. I love the city and it's atmosphere. We share that sentiment of being annoyed at what people say on here sometimes, yet it's only an internet forum isn't it? Respect you and admire you for speaking up, and stating how you feel. Blackie, I'm not going to state my true feelings about you or else people will talk, so you remain ugly here (and not how I really see you) so go ahead and add me, see if I care... cos I don't you get me, I really don't. I think a hugfest would be more appropriate than an event at the 02 for us. The care bears could chase the girls and play kiss chase.
  12. Blackie, rearing your ugly head once again, I though those dome jokes were long dead now. Please. I cannot con-dome them anymore.
  13. What the hell, I'd also be interested in having a look at that list. Rob if you get hold, it can be nice to see, not that it really matters in the big picture of course.
  14. Ace, you are man of true honour. I wish we could all live up to your high standards. Reality remains though, and scapegoats for our own fears will always be found.
  15. Kopite is a very likeable guy on the forum, and I still feel a cyber warmth that extends from me to him. Anyway, we all get triggered from time to time, so there is definately no bad blood from me to him, let me extend my hand towards him in sympathy and cyberfriendship, and with the sincere expression that I meant him no offence, and I am truely sorry that it seems I have upset him. Also I have never meet anyone nasty from the liverpool area, you are from liverpool arent you Kopite?
  16. Fully understand what you are saying ace. Did we really know the man though? Kopite, I had a good look in the mirror the other day, and I do not fit the description of the object whereof you speaketh.
  17. Ace bud, is it really taking pleasure? Or are we just taking some pleasure to ease the pain of loss. Deeper man.
  18. Yeah Hitler was popular, doesn't mean that he was a good person though does it. Mind you if he had learned how to moonwalk...
  19. Lol kopite. I partly wish I could think of a good joke, but I guess I 1) Don't do jokes well 2) Not in mourning 3) er.
