  1. I have exactly the same problem. If the road dips down and rises back onto the next road its really bad. Its really annoying because the only place that sells vpower has a horrible exit and I have to be so careful when coming out and it means waiting for a bit gap in the traffic so I can come out slowly. On some bits where I live its two lanes with a high curb separation the 2 lanes from the from the 2 lanes going the other way and a police car or ambulance might come down the middle and all the cars drive up onto the curb in the middle. Luckily I havent been in the situation where I have had to get up on the curb yet but just scared I'm going to be blocking an ambulance and just cant get out of the way. The other day luckily I could only just get by this lorry. I couldn't reverse back because I have loads of cars behind me and it was a one way road.
  2. Ok this seems like an odd question and it really concerns me because day two of owning my supra i dropped off a curb outside my house and damaged my front bumper. Now recently I was pretty much forced to drive by a lorry. All the other cars drive up onto the curb and dropped back off it to get by. Luckily I had a guy that guided my past the lorry without going on the curb. Also I know when a police car or ambulance come along most people drive up onto the curb. Sometimes it might be a big piece in the middle of the road and I'm so scared I'm going to be forced up onto one at some point, My question is, is can you go up onto a big curb and get off safely as long as you have full lock on as you drop back off ? Now it makes sense that it should be safe with full lock on but it just scares the hell out of me to think about it when I've already spent £300 plus on repairing my front bumper already.
  3. I understand what he is saying. You can be the safest and slowest driver and get caught. My mum drives slowly and I've never know her to have had any crashes that were her fault yet she got caught doing a bit of the speed limit in a 40 limit. Especially in a more powerful car I find it easy to creep up over the speed limit under gentle acceleration. I almost got caught when I came into a 30 limit that starts at the top of a hill. There also used to be a speed camera half way down a steep hill where I live and I saw a lot of people that probably didn't live around here get flashed by it. I also find I worry about speed limits so much these days I almost end up going in the back of people or running idiots over that run accross the road infront of me while I'm busy checking my speed every 2 seconds.
  4. Not really sure how the boost controller works out the power figures but on the I color it says 360hp. I'm guessing that would be at the wheels if its at 1.1 - 1.2 bar of boost ? Also what would that be at the fly ? I'm guess thats about 420hp at the fly but I don't really know how accurate it is really ? Also I don't know the exact weight of the car. Its down as the standard weight so it shouldn't be far off.
  5. I always used to hear 1.4 bar was the max on UK spec but recently heard people saying also not to go over 1.2 bar even on uk spec turbos.
  6. Ah ok thanks. I'll have a look. Its strange because the idle has been fine the last few times I've taken it out. Also ran fine in general. Will check it out though.
  7. Recently the car has not run very well when its cold. I've recently changed the spark plugs so there not the problem. I thought it was just the cold weather but I started it up last night and it ran fine when it was cold. A couple of times it seem to be vibrating a bit and idle seems too low and not smooth. When its got the problem when idling it doesn't seem to want to accelerate properly at all. Then as it warms up it seems ok. The other day it was nicely warmed up so I took it over 4k revs and I was waiting for it to fly forward and it just felt like it was holding back and there wasn't much power. Yesterday like I said it had no problem when I started it up when it was cold and after I had drive around town I gave it a blast and it went like a rocket. I read a similar thread recently and saw someone talked about old o2 sensor could cause a problem. The car never cuts out or anything though.
  8. Its funny because I was looking at the roads thinking they look very nice comapared to where I live. I'm always scared about ripping my front bumper off on some junctions and stupid pot holes. Think on a well setup single lag should never be a problem.
  9. Yep thats what I heard. Can't wait. Just hope I'm impressed and happy with it. More power can never be a bad thing though
  10. Nice video. Sounds really nice. Love the sound of a single turbo supra. Might go single if I start doing lots of track days but I hate all the speed limits these days. Going out to my dads today and all the 60 limts are now 50 and all the 40 lmits have dropped down to 30. Nearly got caught speeding coming into a village the other day
  11. Well I'm bored of standard power delivery. Time for bpu. Hopefully getting caps to block of the hoses and get to fit my i-colour boost controller next weekend. Fastcar off the forum is helping me fit it as he knows what he is doing. The car seems to go very well in the colder weather even though I'm only hitting about 0.8 bar of boost. I can't wait to increase the boost. The car feels pretty quick now but more power is always good. Took the car for a blast down a nice straight road last night as it hadn't been run for a week and damn it went well. Felt pretty happy with the 0.8 bar of boost in the colder weather. Maybe I was at more like 0.9 bar. I have to say it really did want to rocket forward but the fact I was sat there enjoying it with only one hand on the wheel must mean I need more power ? I can't wait to make my girlfriend cry again once I go full bpu I'll give you my thoughts on full bpu power in about a weeks time. Quite excited about it from what I've read
  12. This is abflug front bumper on mine I think. Its far too low to the ground though. Keep scrapping it on the floor. https://fbcdn-sphotos-c-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/539867_10150888334988369_1685904578_n.jpg
  13. Went to fit my Blitz I-colour boost controller last weekend and realized I need to get some caps or something to block off some of the hoses and it didn't come with them. I wondered what size the hoses are that need to be blocked and how many need to be blocked off ? Needed to know the correct size so I know what size caps to get and how many.
  14. My mums car was strange. I remember it would start but if it was warmed up and she had turned it off for a couple of minutes and tried to start the engine again it wouldn't start. She had to wait for 5 or 10 mins and it would start again but eventually it just wouldn't start. Surprisingly it was the battery was dying. Would have thought it would be when it hadn't been run for a bit it would struggle to start.
  15. I want to increase the boost on my supra now but I know I talked to someone on here about boring my restrictor ring out a bit. Also keron talked about this. Now I know I can just get a boost controller and increase the boost but the problem I have is that I'm only boosting to 0.8 bar with the restrictor ring I have and I don't know if I increase it to over 1 bar of boost with a boost controller that the EGT's will be too high. Should I bore it out so I boost to 1 bar and then use a boost controller for extra boost. Or is it fine to just increase it from 0.8 bar to over 1 bar with a boost controller ? Also been thinking about it and wondered how much power I would be running now. I thought maybe with the double decat and exhaust system it would be as high as 350hp or would it just be 320hp as Im still only running 0.8 bar of boost ? Just confused to how I get more power after a decat if the restrictor ring is restricting me just as much as before ?
  16. When one of my hoses was falling off I heard no pop or weird whistling sounds and my boost guage was still saying I was boosting fine but I lost loads of power and the acceleration was pathetic and felt like it was misfiring really badly. I think the turbos would be making a weird noise everytime you accelerated if they had gone.
  17. That would be pretty annoying because ive only had the car a few months. i thought keron had checked bov when i took it to him. All splitting hoses were changed then too. However the boost guage isnt working properly. its rattling and its reading 0.7 bar.
  18. Ah thats interesting. I think it just worried me a bit the other night where it suddenly felt like it started pulling a bit hard harder at high revs like it was holding back for some reason or like it lost power for a split second. Either way it seems like a noise that shouldn't be there and I'm sure it wasn't before. I just hope the turbos are ok.
  19. Hmm, you think that would cause that sound at high rpm then? Is it easy to check the turbos out and would that be something I could sort out ? I wanted to maybe check the turbos etc because I wanted to go full bpu at some point but not on worn out turbos. I'm running standard 0.8 bar of boost now.
  20. My girfriend just screams when the revs go a bit too high but it makes this sound you hear in the video always as soon as the revs get pretty high and stop when I change gear and as the revs rise again it starts sounding again.
  21. I recently had a load of older splitting hoses changed from new silicone ones. Keron did it not long ago. He didn't seem to think there were any problems but I hadn't noticed the noise until I drove back from his and accelerated. It seems like it was maybe doing it a bit before but had got worse so that I can really notice it all the time now if I do put my foot down and let it rev a bit high. Wouldn't it be make that sound as soon as boost came on and not at higher revs if it was to do with the turbo ?
  22. Someone must have some idea ? I was thinking maybe something to do with the air intake ? I know someone said could be to do with the cambelt being tight or bearings maybe ? I know the video isnt great. I'll try to get a better video tomorrow maybe. Its quite in that video but its a lot louder when your sat in the car.
  23. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?198661-230-miles-per-tank....normal....&highlight=fuel+economy Should have lots of peoples mpg and info there !
  24. Recently I noticed a strange whinning noise that only starts at high rpm. Not sure when exactly but maybe somewhere over 5000rpm. Guess probably closer to 6000 rpm it starts doing it. The other night I also noticed it seemed to suddenly have a little surge or power at higher rpm when I was accelerating like it wasn't pulling properly and then suddenly started pulling properly. I just had a load of the old hoses changed by Keron and he said the car seemed to pull ok but now it seems to whine at high rpm. Not sure if it had started doing it before. I guess its not to do with the turbos because they both seem to work fine when they kick in I think. Just found a video I have a video where I think you can hear it as the revs get high near the end of the video. It sounds lounder in person. I guess it sounds more like a whistling sound. In the video the sound doesn't last that long because I changed gear quite early. I don't think the sound was so bad in this video because I didn't notice it when I made the video but I can really hear it now. The windows were down in the video so probably makes it hard to hear the noise but its all I have at the moment.
  25. I'm just wondering if I should go for that boost controller as I do have the money for it. To be fair I expected to spend that kind of money on a boost controller anyway. I just don't know if I would really ever use all those features although they could come in handy and its always nice having something to play around with like that.
