  1. Hey Does anybody have the spacer off hand, could take some measurements for me; I cannot find the one off mine I tried PHR and Callaway motorsport for a replacement but no reply back yet
  2. thanks , do you know the name of the special inch / pound torque wrench ? I sent him your vid too
  3. Thanks Chris Tim was also doing it with him, he builds custom offroad buggys etc Was just talking to him just there and he said she is definitely nowhere near the max 376 ft·lb He reckons she needs to be nipped up a little bit more and go from there, his torque wrench only goes to a max of 280 ft·lb If the bearings are FUBAR , we will replace and go again
  4. Trust me I had these discussions with my mechanic but he is confident in his ability , has done a few, he was measuring the bearing movement after each nip of the nut, If anything she was well under torqued, within the threshold Question you might want to ask is if I trust his ability, and in fairness to him, he has done right so far and he did race a supra for a few years ; We will get there, we all learn from our experiences but thanks for all the advice ! Really appreciate it [emoji6]
  5. Drive Pinion Preload New bearing preload (at starting) 2.0 – 2.5 N·m (20 – 25 kgf·cm, 17.3 – 21.7 in.·lbf) Max Torque 510 N·m (5,200 kgf·cm, 376 ft·lbf)
  6. ribbed outer pulley is till intact, the belt is running on the inner, smooth part She's 22 years old , had planned to do all this prior to putting her on the road not due to issues , just because of age Will get there ! She still goes like a train Good old Toyota 90's engineering
  7. It is the Diff grumbling too I think some 75W 140 oil will quieten it down and will check the torque on the crown pinion nut after the few 100 KM on her
  8. Belt still turns around, all aux items are getting run
  9. Thanks Chris, they are a lot cheaper [emoji106]
  10. Hey Aux belt jumped off behind the crank pulley when I went to pull out of the car park space this morning, going to put on a new crank pulley , water pump, oil pump , tbelt etc She should be ok to drive to the garage?
  11. Are these the hoses to the modine unit? http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_J_1993_TOYOTA_SUPRA_JZA80-ALFQZ_8716.html?hl=87245A 87209-14810 HOSE SUB-ASSY, WATER, D 87209-14800 HOSE SUB-ASSY, WATER Are these the Core plugs? You need to take off the intake to replace? http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_J_1993_TOYOTA_SUPRA_JZA80-ALFQZ_1105.html 96411-42500 PLUG, TIGHT, NO.1(FOR CYLINDER BLOCK) Qty 2 96411-43500 PLUG, TIGHT, NO.2(FOR CYLINDER BLOCK) Qty 11
  12. Toyota do say 36 all round , ok , let's try 36 front and 30 rear I am not even going to get into how volatile air is versus nitrogen lol
  13. Strange one, ecu might just be FUBAR but too co incidental , to have issues all of a sudden and it was working fine before
  14. I don't have an issue with the odo just the trac light, I reckon it keeps thinking its detecting slip and just gets confused, traction control never kicks in but seems to start constantly flashing after I pull off from gravel or put the foot , down ; even though there's no wheel slip, I think it just gets confused and doesn't know what to do No engine codes , car is going like a train, no loose connections around the throttle body
  15. From what I gather, Trac fuse will cause Slip cont lights to illuminante constantly , so best to just unplug the ECU with traction control on it in the passenger footwell
  16. Great information Chris , I may start at a lower psi 28 rear , 32 front to see how is is and keep an eye on tyre wear Thanks for the Help!
  17. Just too coincidental for it to be stuffed after I just put it back on the road Trac on it is crap, not too pushed if it is gone when you take out the ECU or fuse for the Trac, will the light stay on constant I presume? not an MOT failure?
  18. Sard Analyse ECU so boost cut is raised to 1.3 via a ROM chip , it was late and once the temp dropped she spiked to 1.3, had to dial back the duty cycle
  19. Scrub that, I did hot fuel cut / boost cut the the other nite
  20. Getting an error code 34 , turbo pressure malfunction I changed all the Vacuum hoses , would this cause the light to come on though? My guess is throttle valve ? http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?35920-How-To-Check-the-diagnostics-codes
  21. Might try a 32 front , 30 rear mix to see if she feels more planted and reduces understeer
  22. Thanks Dunk She got pushed hard on the B roads the other nite , she is very neutral otherwise I would just like her to feel more planted, regards every day driving , I reckon tyre pressures may be too high, she feels like she is sitting on top of the road rather than sitting on the road, felt more planted, better tyre contact in corners at 30psi
