  1. You need to start taking pictures of things so that we can see what you mean It could be pieces of the coil pack connector, a dodgy coil pack connector can lead to your engine idling very rough and sometimes not able to hold idle if more than one in a row is shot.
  2. As much as I hate them, a couple of hundered to the right security firm would see that sorted
  3. Yeah but they play on that. This is the example they gave last night.... Stranger no.1 in red hat walks up to empty residence and kicks door in. Stranger then leaves the scene as he has been witnessed and a reasonable description can be given of him. Stranger no.2, blisfully unaware of the prior incident, stumbles across an open door and takes that as an invitation. Stranger no.2 then invites all his squatter buddies into his new place. Stranger no.1 is never seen again.... at least not with the red cap and fake beard.
  4. One of the few times where I'm happy to hear of the police abusing their power lol.
  5. Yeah, it would be the rope trick for me. I dont have a compressor lol.
  6. Now thats a bit more like it Its very easy to play the system from our side as well.
  7. I just installed a set of gsc stage 1s. JamieP had some good results from them in the past. I didnt bother with the seats as they are just hardened washers for all that i could see. As long as they aren't scored or marked they will be absolutely fine. If they are then I would be giving the valves a thorough check as something hasnt been right. Why such agressive cams and double springs? What power/revs are you going for?
  8. I would post up a video. Banging would say the bottom end is gone but I would be surprised if that happened sitting in the garage. A lumpy idle could be explained by dodgy coil pack clips, injector failure, spark plug failure etc. Best thing to do is get the spark plug cover off and check all that out. Take all the plugs out and turn the car over with the efi fuse out to see if you still get the knocking. If you do I would think worst case scenario. If you don't then take it from there. I really hope you haven't dropped a plug or a valve.
  9. I dont get that, what difference does removing the head make to the rings? They are completely seperate, or does the 4AGE run proud deck or something? I can't see any way that removing the head will effect anything that isnt head related. I just removed mine and I'm in the process of putting it back in. I will say that if I was doing the stem seals I wouldn't remove the head. Far easier and quicker to do it in situe.
  10. I really feel for you there mate, that situation could get very messy. I'd have been back with a sword though In fact, I would have 2.... And a Daniel/Mr Mayagi headband... Always wanted to do that
  11. Do you mean the whole 120 degree loosen/tighten proceedure or the progressive tightening? I understand why the caps are tightened a bit at a time, but I don't get the diffences in proceedure between N/A and TT. If anything it would make more sense for me to follow the N/A proceedure as that would appear to take the stress out of the cam and help to make sure the pressure on it was even and not down to the cam being bowed.

  13. Is that right? I did have a quick browse last night and i noticed there was a difference between Scotland and England regarding squatters rights but I didn't realise they simply didnt exist for us.
  14. And how did they prove it? If it was as easy as that they could just lie. Oh, and don't get me wrong. It wouldn't be me doing the escorting. I'm sure I could have a few people down the pub corroborate that without any issues.
  15. Well apparently not. Not that they are to be trusted but the squatter notification mentioned that breaking in was a crime, or something like that.
  16. Exactly, a lick of paint and it would be as good as new again Speaking of which. Why can't you kick down your own door when you have squatters in? I couldn't fathom that one out.
  17. I can understand family being a bit of a spanner in the works with how to deal with this but I still don't get it. Is the sister/brother not doing anything about it? Are the rest of the family not getting behind her? Why hasn't she gone up and pulled her out of the house by the hair? Obviously there are different circumstances for everyone, but I just don't get how people find something like this hard to deal with. In an emotional way I would find it hard if it was family, but I would still find a way of dealing with the situation.
  18. If I walked in on such a scene I don't think I would need to say much for them to leave. I think the vein in my forehead would do the talking for me to be honest.... and if it didn't I have a few persuaders in the garage I honestly don't get it though. I was watching this on the telly and the guy basically took it. I would absolutely flip. I don't think anyone I know would stand for that sort of behaviour and I don't think I would need to ask twice for help in dealing with the situation. I can't understand why the people in this show had to put up with it and couldn't deal with it in the same way most people would.
  19. I'm watching a show at the moment where some squatters had taken refuge in a couples house. They had been saving up in order to move out of their flat and were between homes. One day they arrived at the house to find changed locks and a note in the window informing them that the home had been taken over. According to "Squatters rights" they are allowed to do this and you need to go through the courts in order to get them evicted. What I don't understand is why the boys aren't just sent round to give them a good seeing to?? I can't believe the law wouldn't be on our side here.
  20. B&Q do a fine range of saws
  21. The one I followed said to put on caps 3 and 7 and uniformly tighten them until they are touching the head. I can't really see the reason for doing it that way but I followed the manual. From there it tells you to put the rest of the caps on and uniformly tighten them all down over several passes..... but as the other 2 are already holding the cam down this is virtually impossible as they are almost on the deck before you even get a nip on the thing. Once I had them getting a nip I loosened off 3 & 7 and then proceeded to tighten as per the manual using the sequential order. Quite happy that they are OK but I was really surprised at how hard the cam is to turn once tightened down. That timing belt really does have it's work cut out doesn't it I've got a set of feelers now so hopefully I'll get a chance to size the shims tomorrow.

  23. Mine is the one that replaces the entire a to b pillar trim. It's for either 52 or 60mm gauges. I have mine cut for 52mm ones at the moment (as my gauges are 52 surprisingly lol), but it can be opened out to 60 if required
