  1. Well I popped into toyota tech today and was pleased with the response. Quoted £500 for a full service including oil and filter, fuel filter, g/box and diff oil, cambelt, spark plugs, inspections and various other bits. All parts are toyota parts. There hourly rate is half of my local VW garage. I've booked in for the service and will let you know how it goes. They were proud to have been suggested by this forum.
  2. Thanks for the advice. I did look underneath to see where to reach in. The plastic bag is a top tip that will save alot of mess in the future. Just got to rag up the spill I already have.
  3. Are these going to make me cry when someone lets me know how much they will cost. I have had a quote to recover mine but has anyone got some for sale.
  4. I was going to but did not want to stress the pipes and cause more problems by bending them. Is this the way ahead for an easier filter change then and i'm just a bit dim.
  5. Cheers fella's, i'll pop in to see them. You usually get a feeling for the result from the guys/workshop. Any guesses on a full service with cambelt. No prizes but i'll post the result.
  6. You must have bendy weasel arms because mine are bruised from reaching in from above. I did have the car up to try and do it from beneath but no easier so battled on from above. Where is the position to relocate the filter to. Dropping the oil was no problem.
  7. Well I suffered the torment of oil filter replacement today and as such really keen to reposition. How difficult is the job and can anyone recommend a product. Thanks in advance.
  8. All you need now is an understanding locksmith to asist in boobytrapping your mates car.

    Double Wammy

Yep pretty much as I thought. Didn't see any way to stop the oil dripping everywhere and got two bruised forearms for my efforts. Are the relocation kits any good and where do I get mine?
  10. Where abouts are you based then Rowland? anywhere near junct 7 M27?

    Double Wammy

After reading lots on the site I purchased some tailgate bump rubbers to cure the mind infuriating squeaking. As predicted the screws were a nightmare and well and truly loctited in. Got both of them out and job done. Thanks for the advice. Feeling flush with success I then drained the engine oil and spent the next 1 and 3/4 hrs trying to change the oil filter. There must be a trick to it. Need a lie down.
  12. Driven many cars and owned over 40 including BMW's. I did look at M3's prior to buying my TT. Nothing has put a smile on my face like a soop. He does sound a di*k. Probably not worth arguing with him.
  13. I lost a friend this year only weeks after competing in a 24hr enduro and have not felt the same on a road bike since. Will still compete off road though as no pensioners or mums doing the school run out in the mud. It does seem to be getting worse out there on the roads. Consider getting a road legal trail bike. Good upright position and easy to ride. Harder wearing than a sports bike too. Whatever you get they are fun.
  14. In just over a week I have sold my R1 and my Husky:( but it is ok because I bought my TT with the money:)
  15. When you have a car with so much to offer careful attention to detail will always be a winner. I take my hat off to you sir.
  16. Try Bell who just gave me a decent quote but i'm rediculously old. They do quote for low no claims. You guys paying £2800 for insurance really have too much money. Thats 280 cases of stella.
  17. I live in Southampton and wondered if anyone could recommend someone to service my newly purchased TT. I would like a full service but want it done right. With 69k on the clock it is due cam belt and all fluids along with Vv clearances. Would give me peace of mind too.

  21. Don't forget to change your locks once moved in as the previous owners could be dodgy. Would love that contract.
  22. Picked up my twin turbo today and still buzzing from the drive home.

    What do ya think

you can use steam to soften the leather and make it easier to work around corners and edges. a paint stripper with just the hose end is good for that.
