I've heard this too,used to wind my workmate up by saying i'd been to Yawn St. the day before(whilst doing a massive yawn)and he used to mad cos he couldn't stop yawning after that.

All this talk is making me thinking of going for a lie down,stop it you guys,any more and i'll be snoring away with my head on the keyboard.

If i'm not mistaken you yawn when you're tired cos you aren't breathing efficiently enough to oxygenate your blood which in turns feeds the brain,it's just your body's way of a safety cutout,very clever really.I'f i'm wrong i stand to be corrected but i think that's the general jist of it.
