Hoopers car: Lookin' real pretty!

They can charge for this. The same thing happened to me a couple of years ago with my 'Ang1' plate on my work car. I decided that the object of the defect form was to get me to have plates that conform to the law, and that as I had not been fined, I shouldn't have to pay to have the form stamped. So, I turned up at the local central ticket office with my car and its' nice shiny new plates. I showed them the form and explained that it hadn't been stamped as the garage wanted to charge for the privelege. I said the car was parked outside and they could look at it there and then. Eventually they agreed. They had to find a Police Officer in the building to come outside to check that they were legal first! (Civvy staffed these days apparently!) Anyway, this worked for me. although it was a bit of a hassle! I just didn't see why I should spend £10 to get the form stamped. Fair enough, paying for the plates, but that was as far as I was going!

Completely stock MKIV, i.e. with BOTH cats still in, and the standard exhaust cans, standard intake etc, we did a 13.6 standing quarter. With NUR Spec cat back system but still with both cats in, 13.4 Full decat, FCD, gets it down to 12.8 (Cheap mod to get down to those times!)

Unfortunately I can't make the 23rd as I already have plans. It would have been nice to meet new and old Girlie friends again. Also, it would mean a round trip of almost 350 miles when we're trying to save our pennies for Le Mans next month! I'm sure I'll see you all at another meet this year anyway. Sorry to be a killjoy! Hope you understand. Darren; The new Supe is mine. Judging from the 1/4 mile times it likes me better! :innocent:

Sorry to hear about this mate. Brian (My other half, Soop Dogg on this site) wrote off our Supe recently. Still waiting to get the insurance sorted out. Hooper (I think) on this site wrote off his 1995 TT with 120,000 miles on it. I think he got £12k back for it. Hope this helps, keep your chin up. We'll see you at a meet sometime this year when we get another car., if not we might bump into each other in the dealerships looking at prospective purchases!

what a great day! Lots of very nice cars Really nice meeting new and old faces again. Us Girls finally got to meet, well me and Donna anyway. Were you there Faye? We tried to find you. weather was excellent, too hot for jeans and a black T-shirt, I'll know next time! Nice also to meet Paul and Kelly with my old Aero-top. They have kept her in pristine condition , nice to know he's still pleased with her. Big thanks to Donna and Mark for getting us a great deal on a auto gear lever, I owe you one.
