  1. Tom, I'm reeeeeeeally sorry, but I've been working out of the country for a while so have missed the fun, and now all the threads are closed. I'd like to attend on the Saturday, and camp over till the Sunday. I'd also like the full food / drink / badge / everything deal if possible.... If I'm too late to pre-pay, can you let me know what the cost is if I pay when I arrive on the Saturday? Thanx
  2. Ha! Signature changed to prevent further embarrassment... Still looks more like titanium to me though. Come on.....alpine WHITE I could understand.....but who ever saw a SILVER mountain?
  3. Hi Fifty, I'm being overly romantic and hadn't checked - Titanium Silver is what the Japs called it at the auction in Tokyo... Now you've mentioned it, I've looked up the colour, and it's actually called Alpine Silver. Oh Bollox! A rose by any other name....... I hereby promise to change my profile accordingly! Cheers, GeoffB
  4. and I owned a Celica GT from '89 - '94. Nice car, but there's just no going back from a Supe!
  5. and welcome to the club. I have a Blitz Realise TT fitted to my N/A - doesn't really add power, just helps it breathe a bit more easily. Think of it as a packet of Tunes for your engine. This may do the trick for you - not massively loud, but just gives her a nice throaty growl that doesn't attract plod or make the chav Scooby owners too jealous.

Don't worry 'bout the top, just get one!

    New Girl!

and Wow, after a Micra, 2 Novas and a Polo, you must think all your birthdays have come at once!
  8. Hi guys, Sorry to be so late in replying to this one! Had my head completely up my a*se with my PC, having had an unrecoverable virus attack that caused me to change my main HDD & wipe the other two - been desperately trying to get it sorted out and everything reloaded, but 520 Gb of disk space takes a lot of sorting - took me two weeks and a lot of sleepless nights. Hi terrible, thanks for stepping into the breach and posting a reply on my behalf. Anyway, I'm back now, and yes, that was me! Bet you didn't notice that the spoiler was held together with white gaffa tape and my back bumper was a bit worse for wear though? Was being tailgated by a complete prat in a 7.5 tonne truck who proceeded to go straight into the back of me when I stopped at a set of lights back in November. It's taken until now to get everything sorted, car's in the shop next week (hopefully) for full repair, provided that customs will eventually release the new bumper parts and spoiler!! Regards Geoff
  9. Flashed you from behind a couple of times, then passed you around Mahjacks roundabout.
  10. Sorry guys, my brain is too addled at the moment to work out how to attach pics etc., but if you visit my Member's Garage the spec and a reasonable pic can be found there. Thanks for the welcome all. Love the MkIV to bits, knocks the Mk III into a cocked hat it has to be said!
  11. Ouch! I've been caught by the dreaded work commitments so am gonna have to miss out on tonight. Sorry guys, have a great time, I'll catch you all at the next meet.
  12. Don't think this is a guarantee Bobbeh, but maybe a quoted MTBF or MTBR figure....this is like stereo manufacturers quoting their speakers at Peak Power or Peak Output Power...nothing to do with the 'real world' expectancy. Can you let me know of either a plasma or LCD model that actually offers you a 7 year guarantee out of the box?
  13. LCD is certainly the way to go at the moment...plasma still isn't either good or reliable enough to be worth spending such a huge amount on. Also, although loads of models say 'HD Ready', you can bet my Supe that when the analogue signal gets turned off and full digital HD comes in, you'll still need some sort of an adapter to receive full HD signals and decode 'em perfectly. Let's face it, if you buy either an LCD or a plasma now, the reliability and maintainability issue probably says that you'll be replacing it in 5 or 6 years anyway, at which time full digital & HD will be the norm, and you'll be able to buy a 'proper' TV for a reasonable price anyway. TVs don't last 10 or 12 years anymore like they used to.... The issue with contrast is more to do with visibility in full daylight than anything else (the brighter the ambient light, or the more direct any sunlight is on your screen, the harder it is to get a good contrast pic., i.e., everything will look 'washed out' or very pale in bright daylight the lower the contrast ratio of the TV). I just bought (30 Dec) a Bush LCD27TV005 (yeah yeah, so it's not a Pioneer or a Sony, but it's also not at the Pioneer or Sony price) 27 inch LCD flat panel from Argos, reduced from 999.99 to 499.99, and including a free stand (nice quality too) worth 79.99. Not 'HD Ready' but a great deal if you're happy to replace it with a real HD TV in 5 or 6 years time. It's sad but true that most big retailers WON'T offer you that hated '3-year extended warranty' deal on plasma boxes.....they also know that reliability with these is such a problem that the insurance deal is a no-goer for them. Caveat emptor I think.
  14. Hi All, I'm informed that when I joined the club in October '05 I shoulda posted a 'Hi I'm a newbie' sort of message. Apologies if I've not followed the etiquette, but let me just say now: 'Hi, I'm a newbie' .......Except that I had my first Celica GT in 1990 and my first Supra Mk III in '94, so I'm only a newbie as regards the Mk IV Owners Club, not as regards Toyota or Supes by any means! Maybe the Alzheimers was responsible for me not making an introductory post, but I'm here now! (At least, I am as far as I remember)...
  15. Oh, and I had my garage set up on the site the day I joined...if you wanna see my car, it's only a click or two away...
  16. Tryin' hard to increase my post count too! See you guys at the Windsor meet tomorrow?
  17. Oh Gawd, Sorry to be so late to post my 'I'm a Newbie' ad, but this is it!.... Don't really consider myself a newbie insofar as the car's concerned though...had my first Celica GT in 1990 & first Mk III Supe in '94, so I'm an oldie really, but simply a newbie to the Mk IV club! Hope I haven't gone against usual etiquette by not declaring myself a virgin. I'm an old fart with a young heart (and a love for Toyota).

    Hi..I'm New

Hi Jason, Welcome to the club!
  19. Yeah, have just heard about Windsor on Wednesday evening. Gonna try to get there if at all possible.
  20. Sounds good to me, hopefully see you guys there.
  21. Hi Vil, Sorry to be so late in replying...Crimbo & all that... Yeah, it'd be good if I could get to the Windsor meet, thanx for the info., I'll check out the thread now. Best Wishes for the New Year.
  22. Hello mate, Yeah, think that was me, I did notice you in the outside lane as I pulled off. I was going on to the M40 to get home to Uxbridge...on the way back from visiting the Mother-in-Law in Coventry. Gimme a shout, we can have a beer next time! Cheers
