  2. Happened to me when i was in front of my son who was in his civic, thought id show him who was boss went down into third when doing 85 allready and booted it and had the rear end going everywhere, the road was nearly dry so thought it would be ok, it wasnt, i had to change when i got home. Now if its not completely dry i dont even bother taking on any really serious competition.
  3. Try keith Michaels they were loads cheaper than sky with loads of mods declared, tho i am 40 an dont know what they r like for any younger drivers.

  6. Hi Chris just checked no they r not ferrous they looked it but have just got a magnet and it isnt attracting them, sounds pretty fudged doesnt it there was no warning though, car drove fine for seven miles prior to this went to local bodyshop and worked on my sons car from nine in morning till four am the next morning came out started it up and it was there straight away on tickover no reving nothin, never a good time for ur car to go wrong but after such a long day it couldnt have felt worse, my poor car certainly a lot of bits to take off to even get to the head isnt there. Best regards steve
  7. Hi Johnk who are mvp do you have a contact no i have also emailed Terry but do not think he got it so have sent another asking price of crated engine, if ur readin this terry can u let me know. cheers to you both and thanx steve
  8. Hi geoff ill strip it and see anyway the car just made the noise immediately on start up i never rev the engine cold and not much when its warm to be honest. i had driven the car fine and hadnt driven it hard either, no prior warning unless the metals from somewhere else loose foreign object. metal from no6 piston only, on google there is a few companys offering a recon engine with warrantys waiting to hear back from them will strip and check before going further. Thanx for reply cheers Geoff
  9. Started my TT supra up the other day and it started clattering switched off straight away as i immediatly thought it sounded like something in the compression chamber, got it home on me mates trailer and took out the plugs i put a nylon cable tie down the hole with some grease on it and wittled it about a bit on pulling it out it had bits of metal on it so it dont look very good does it i done a compression test (cold) and all five cylinders gave about 150 psi wheras cylinder 6 only gave about 90 i have just started stripping it down is it worth repairing do you think or should i look at a recon engine i would have thought that it must have scored the bore badly for the pieces of ring to have come out shall i strip head off anyway to look. i would have thought a rebore etc would be a fortune :thumbdown so a recon might be cheaper advice please cheers Steve

  12. Hi Brian yeah i know that it was in kph and that it now reads in mph due to being converted all i put was reads up to 300 mph which it does cant beleive such a statement can generate sooo much interest. my mate used to import cars directly from Japan mainly 4 wheel drives and has untill recently done so for years and has service history with each one. The only time he hasnt is if he has brought one that was allready over here. But i,ll stand corrected. Cheers Steve
  13. Hi lads not being funny but i do at least know what MPH and KPH are, yes it does go to 300MPH it reads 0 at about 8.00 oclock and has the 300 at 6.00 oclock (the bottom) and it does read in MPH which is whats written on the face of the dial. i'l try to send some photos if ya like,
  14. Sorry dont get the point about the speedo it dont go 300mph obviously but it looks good
  15. £10650 Uprated gearbox cooling to reduce heat on auto box not actually add bhp Maybe they do, some other supra owners claim this when running on standard boost with no mods im going by various people ive spoken to in the trade who tune supras up to over 1100 BHP, only a rolling road would prove it but ive told them what mods it got and thats what they have estimated which is what the add says, estimated , on the tdi site it dont take much to get an extra 112 bhp.
