  1. Just now !!!!!!! :p :p when I was told I was a muppet and should buy a Supra rather than a zed !!!!
  2. Hey ....... I'm the first to say they're different cars ...... if we hadn't spent the cash getting the supe the way Motley wanted it she'd be in a tt right now but it was a full respray and I can't see a way of transfering that to a new car ;)
  3. New Lexus ...... mmmmm now there's something I've been coming round to since I bought the zed although it's a bit too sensible for me this side of a mid life crisis ....... but yes ....... you've snuck in an outside option there mate !
  4. NSX & Boxter ...... second hand ...... would have to be under two years old .... NSX out ...... and WHEN I have a proker it'll be a 911. I did consider the Boxter but couldn't risk shooting my porker bolt too soon. Ah the EVO ....... can't do Evo's and Scoobies ...... I know they perform and I'd love that ...... but I really don't like the visuals ..... I just think you'd never find it again at sainsburys ..... zed and the supe stand out a mile visually for me. So Evo and Scooby are NO but I'll accept it's a girlie view !!!!!
  5. Stipulations at work ...... we insist that our guys who get a car allowance have a car under three years old and under warranty to preserve both the company image and make sure they get to work every morning ...... so we have to toe the same line even though we don't get a car allowance as such. I'm six foot three and 18 stone, I don't fit in an s2000, the bulkhead behind your left elbow is too close for me ...... tried it, really liked it but I'm too fat I guess ..... nice try but ...... NEXT
  6. Mate, you seem to avoid the point I make about trim. I've never seen a supra with trim as good as a new car ....... it doesn't happen, I've spent a load of cash on ours and it's good but not "new" good. That's what I need in my every day car at the moment. Reliability ....... so you're conceeding my point that modded tt's are less reliable than stock ones! Thanks, that's what I said in the first place. The 3.5 V6 isn't exactly at it's limit either ....... you're right it does make for a very reliable mota doesn't it ....... must be a jap thing ! Ok he's the question ...... you've just had five blissful years in a mercedes slk, your girlfriend has a Supra NA that you've resprayed, retrimmed and put 19" rims on to make it her dream car, yes admittedly and NA but they are fun too you tt snob, you've got £25-£30 k to spend on a 'new' car (NOT A SECOND HAND ONE) ..... what should I buy Chilli. Given my criteria I think most will agree that the zed is both an interesting and fun option. Don't start your ..... I'd spend it on a supe and mod it crap ..... I can't ..... it needs to be a new car !!!!!! I don't need a weekend car ..... I ride a bike !!!!! Come on then smartie pants, what else, cus I just about ruled everything else out when I had the decision.
  7. Oi screw you butt wipe ...... I take back everything nice I've ever said about your car :rlol: :rlol: I didn't have many problems keeping up with the tt boys on the M42 last time out. You'll notice I never talk about performance as such ........ I have been taken out by class1 recently and I can confirm that the tt is rapid, never said it wasn't ....... and in his expert hands I'm sure it handles too !!!!! ...... Hey, I'm a supra fan ...... won't deny it. BUt I also really like my zed !
  8. Firstly I didn't say a reliable car had to be powerful, I said for me I need something that starts every morning ...... there is a difference, I need a car ideally still within warranty !!!!!!! Come on chilli mate ...... be honest ...... you start playing with a tt and you do compromise the reliability ....... it's well know, and regularly discussed on here that a stock tt is bullet proof ....... I use his name in vain but last time I spoke with CJ he confirmed what a pain it is to keep a modded tt on the road all the time !!!!!!! I haven't just visited this site to pi55 you off, I'm a paid up member and have been for a while and I read the posts regularly where modded cars have gone pop. I've been on Supra meets when we've lost people through breakdowns. By all means be passionate but please don't become deluded. I think the zeds a great car, not in the same way the supras a great car but I like them both ...... they both make me smile. How impartial are you mate ..... you owned a zed? You even driven a zed? By all means express you're oppinion mate but don't get nasty while doing it. If you want to slag off the 350 properly come to the Midlands gumball and you can come out in mine (as madam will be in the supra that day) and they you can pick all the holes you like in it mate. Until then a simple, "I'm sure it has it's merits and obviously you like it, but it's not my cup of tea thanks mate" will do. For what it's worth the guys from the 350 club generally appreciate Supras, well ours anyway, it was on the 350z plot last year at JAE ....... don't suppose you guys would like to host my zed this year and be equally complimentary would you ??????
  9. For me it's a big fat porker 911 everytime ...... always has been since I was a kid ....... something to do with muscular rear wheel arches ..... I think that's why I like the supe and the zed, they have a muscular look about the back quarters that the Audi TT lacks. I just think it's the real deal when it comes to sports or GT type cars (I'm excluding lotus roller skates obviously) I guess I could have bought a poor man's porsche when I bought the zed but hey ....... 911 or bust. On the zed vs supra issue ...... for me it comes down to the simple fact that it's mt everyday car ..... it has to start every morning and also has to be fun. The other thing is much as I really love Supras ..... at my stage in life I want a new car as my main car and although I haven't seen all the cars in the club, there are very few that I would say have interior trim, carpets and seats that are ..... as good as new. I know people have spent lots of cash on their supras, me included for what it's worth, but even a retrim isn't as good as OE trim ..... sorry guys, that's just the way I see it. That being said if I had to economise (and that a very real prospect) I'd probably look at a tt supra as a realistic alternative.
  10. Nahhhhh you're all looking at this wrongly ........... have one of each :p :p :p ....... you can discuss the differences between cars without getting nasty now children !!!!!
  11. 0 - 60 in ***king ages if I'm driving !!!!!!! I get a discount from my insurance for being a human speed limiter !!!!!

    350z

Come out on the Midlands Gumball that's being planned ...... I'll be in the zed and you can have another go ....... just to make you feel better :innocent:
  13. afreemason

    350z

Nah ...... the stock 350's no match for a Supra TT in a straight line chap ...... ask IanR
  14. afreemason

    350z

Surprised you're even posting Garfy, I'd be mortified with shame in those circumstances Lets be honest, you'd notice the difference on a track but not on normal roads ...... maybe the 350 hit the gear changes just so and you weren't really concentrating, maybe the 350 was a twin turbo or had a blower ....... you're much better using another Supra as a bench mark if you're worried about the supe ...... if you're just trying to make me feel bad cus I've got a 350, don't bother, I've a girlfriend for that :) :)
  15. Morning guys ........ I see we kept chatting over night then ??????? Well I didn't log on last night but the discussion raged yet again about the various merits of the zed and the supra however when push came to shove I had to admit the Supra is best ............... I don't believe it, I just didn't fancy the settee last night :innocent:
  16. Not as long as my slk mate ........ surely that pipped it ........ wasn't it used in the war or something !?!?!?!?!?!

    350z

mmmmmm ....... a second 350z thread for me to post on. Yep a standard 350 z will out run an NA supe in a straight line and depending on what you've done to your suspension it will drop you like a ton of bricks in the twisties HOWEVER a lot will depend on the relative skills of the drivers. As you can see from my sig ...... I speak from experience. Now Twin turbos ...... as Ian the fast bar steward R will tell you he was all over me at the last Midlands gumball ....... a supra tt will marmalise a zed, particularly in a stright line. In the twisties I would say it would come down to the driver but the supe has a decent power and application advantage IMHO. 350z TT's ....... aftermarket fit only I'm affraid ...... will stick the zed up to 420 + bhpbut will cost £10k as Nissan skimped on the engine internals to keep price down, or protect the new skyline depending on your conspiracy theory of choice !!!!! APS do a conversion, budget about £10k. £3-4k for a blower on standard internals is an alternative ! Here's my personal baby as I never get bored of posting pickies of it
  18. Edd ........ come on mate ........ I've spent ages checking the stats and apparently NO Supras were sold during the same period ....... now that's exclusive !!!!!! Also ed ....... have you noticed that the smilies are sh1t loads better over here ....... now you know what I've been moaning about !!!!!!
  19. OK this commonly spotted thing is obviously an urban feenomonomonomon type thingey ......... Right this is deffinative and you CAN'T argue cus I get to drive both cars and you don't :p :p :p When I'm in the zed, I never see any other zeds but I always spot supras and flash and wave and they look at me with the same tone that's getting used in some of these posts !!!!!! When I'm in the Supra, I only ever see chuffin' zeds and wave and flash and they look at me with that "posh car wannabe" type look !!!!!! So ...... it's scientifically proven that you Supra guys are only ever going to see zeds cus to you Supra's have stealth capability as do zeds when viewed from another zed. RIGHT ....... glad that's sorted
  20. :d :d Yeah ...... I tried that arguement in reverse on the zed site ....... didn't work then either :p :p
  21. All good fun Chilli, everyone knows bikes are better than cars ....... my mate has a busa that he says does 0 - 100 in 3 seconds, that's 1.5 seconds a wheels so I guess it's only as fast as a NA then ........ but anyway ....... what car won the Jap touring car thingey this year ????????
  22. Veilside every time ...... no contest ...... and go for the scoop gob front bumper too from Miammi GT ...... fantastic fit we were well chuffed
  23. Right then ......... so what we're basically saying is that this discussion is a great little catalyst for a rather spirited day out at the 2006 MIDLAND'S GUMBALL where the 350's will again be in attendance ........... looks like an ideal opportunity to compare the two mota's in question then chaps ............. I'm expecting a high attendance again then !!!!!! Last year ....... THE CAR IN FRONT WAS A NISSAN ....................... or was it
  24. I think the other thing that's not being mentioned is the reliability of a modded car. Quite a few of the Supra's on here have suffered with reliability problems when serious mods have been performed. My brother in arms CJ will testify that although the Orange beastie was 600 bhp plus, it was bloody hard work keeping it on the road ...... and I seem to remember if was off the road not long after he sold it. OK, the jury is out on the TT 350's at the moment but the blown cars have proved very reliable. And for those just visiting this thread a point of etiquet ....... there's no one who takes the pi55 out of Normally Aspirated Supra owners more than TT supra owners ....... so I'm not even going there !!!!!!! bar stewards :p :p :p
  25. Guys I think I might be under valuing madam's supe ....... I did have to take it out last night as I had to pick up two mates and needed a sensible family car with a back seat :innocent: See the Supra has it's place in our house ......... sensible family car :eyebrows:
