Jspec TT was a 1996 N reg, believe it or not it was a mint car but i decided to go off road backwards and I think it bent everything and yes it did happen within a week of putting the narrow rx8 wheels.. http://img716.imageshack.us/img716/1264/imag0058ci.jpg http://img534.imageshack.us/img534/19/imag0062cf.jpg http://img17.imageshack.us/img17/151/imag0063jl.jpg

Cheers mate. Yes its just my NA supra now.. back on the road but after over seven years of driving it as my daily driver it was a choice of new car or sort out all the little niggles on it and put it back to mint (not that its bad).. Dont see many supras around here dont know if the guy is on here but the only one I see regular is a bronze coloured one with a bodykit? as for selling the uk one i couldnt say- but someone on the club still owns it and its nice now... but the Jspec I crashed .. N/A was my daily driver and the TT's I had were for fun. unfortunaly they were too much fun for me and I chose to live in a miserable n/a rather than die horribly in a TT lol....

This might be an odd post but when my original toyota drivers rear shock passed away I was advised the best shocks to get if I didn't want coilovers (seemed pointless on an N/A) was the 'yellow' Bilsteins. So went out and got a set, they wern't the toyota badged Bilsteins just a set direct from manufacturer. On the box it had in the usage section 'Heavy Duty' which I thought was fine but when fitted the car rides higher than a transit van especially the front end. After reading a few posts on lowering springs is it possible these are just for the heavy TT version?

All the gearing as the motor only moves the one side closest to the door by the looks of it..

I've had my first supra since Feb 2004 (still got it now) its just an N/A but I bought it when I was 21 and have become attatched to it now.. have talked to people on here but never bothered joining properly as the n/a version is very unpopular.. but thought it was about time I joined as there seems to be a lot of useful guides. Had two other Supras a J spec TT and a UK TT... Sold the UK supra to someone off here a few years ago Martin James...

Need a drivers seat with a good motor, mine had siezed in position and as its leather i'll have to transfer the bottom off a donor seat. So not bothered of condition of seat just need it for the motor

How do you check it?

Do mazda RX8 alloys fit? i notice theyre very cheap and always listed as fitting the supra, just wondered if that were true?

That autobox thing sounds about right actually, the auto box was getting noticably hot around the dash auto shifter, and it just wasnt right... havent taken it for service but i will deffo get that sorted asap... brakes are a bit warped too so some fresh discs and pads on the front wouldnt hurt either.. if its just a gearbox oil change i'll be well chuffed!!

I picked up my supra twin turbo yesterday to replace my N/A supra, this was a lower milage, N reg high spec twin turbo auto, but on driving it back yeasterday on two seperate occasions the engine light and the red warning light came on the dash and stayed there till i restarted the car, also the O/D off light was flashing when i had over drive on even tho it all seems to work it switches on and off fine... theres nothing that seems wrong with the car but im not liking the lights.. i was discussing selling it yesterday and id owned it about 4 hours, thats not how it should be lol.... hope i havent got a complete dud.. anyone know if these are common problems?

I'm looking to get a new exhaust for the n/a supra as the hks one has rotted off, i quite like the look of the apex-i gt full s/s exhaust but i dont want my exhaust to exit at an angle, it looks crap IMO, what exhausts can i get that dont exit to the side for my n/a.. does the one i listed exit to the side? i have a feeling it does...

Ive got quite a few problems with this pig of a supra i bought, its a UK car.. i noticed up like my jap car the supra doesnt beep when put in reverse??? also my water is boiling in the overflow tank, temp isnt fluctuating on the guage and its not really affecting anything else???

Why put the airbox back to standard? are the induction kits not up to much? ive heard the HKS induction kit is not very good... i was thinking of getting the apexi dry type kit...
-
Ive got a list of the modifications but i dont know how the car is set up Blitz front mounted intercooler, blitz turbo timer, hks induction kit, hks full exhaust inc decat... Thats all i know about it ive never owned a turbo and know nothing about them.. at all.. which no doubt will give me problems later on... cars very clean tho, with the service history im hoping it will be fine..

Nah its a bluey grey colour, its got 115,000 miles on it full service etc.. supposed to have 400bhp and has sat nav etc in it as well, came up hpi clear too cant ask for much more... seems a lot of car for not much money, got to be worth more than that surely? Im keeping this one, its gonna be my pride and joy as sadly i normally drive a beat up L reg calibra i bought for 350 quid as my run around.. :thumbdown but it will slow down the mialage a bit on the supra

Ive just bought my supra uk model, M reg with loads of extras etc. just wondering if there is a difinative value for these cars i realise the auto would be worth less than the manual, but people seem to pay loads for either... i searched around and got mine for.......... shall i say??..........go on then.... 6k! and theres nothing wrong with it.. bit of a bargin??? not interested in selling etc but for insurance purposes...
-
I dont understand it either, but i suppose it makes sense that older people bought it? (with that styling tho? ) and they like autos, but in all fairness its a very good gearbox unlike most autos.. incidentially i would never buy an auto version of anything else
-
each to thier own on that one, most like manual, but after driving a few i prefered auto.. finding a 6 speed isnt difficult as its standard on uk cars..
-
I think uk supras have galvinised(sp) bodies being originally a 40,000 pound car, so rust isnt an issue, you'd be looking at about 10k i expect but theres bargins to be had.. i just bought a uk supra tt auto as i prefer it, and it wasent hard to find one to be honest... easier to trace history on uk cars too, nowt wrong with the jap cars tho really, few extras between them nothing much.. i expect the uk car will hold its price better maybe?

thanks people, i'm well looking forward to it, you'd think i was getting a ferrari lol, i'll post some pics when i get it.. got to drive to manchester to pick up tho (from s.wales)
