lockys96
thought id post it here too, its not really ice technical. Hello everyone, i know im not a trader yet, but. ive seen a number of threads about this should be offered on the forum. im looking at making a number of different subboxes from fibreglass. I just want a rough idea what people would be interested in, i.e keeping spare wheel, or combination of subs i.e 2x12" 2x10" 1x10" 3x8" etc. ive heard a number of people go on about the stealth type fitted in between the space from the back seat, i could make something very similar. (as shown below) http://img347.imageshack.us/img347/8979/supraboxsub2small7jc.jpg the stock boot carpet would have to be cut to fit the above type. http://img99.imageshack.us/img99/7840/2s10supra9lt.jpg or perhaps something that keeps the stock carpet, but mounts over the carpet. i have quite a bit of time on my hands at the mo. If i can get a idea of what you guys would want, i can get a move on and make a prototype. and then apply for a traders license on here. thanks Simon:p
lockys96
me and my bro made this setup to fit the curves of his boot. http://img104.imageshack.us/img104/4646/matchams0186kg.jpg http://img108.imageshack.us/img108/4408/matchams0199pj.jpg note, the amp and capacitor are mounted to the trim. http://img422.imageshack.us/img422/1085/matchams0164nq.jpg note, boot not shown complete modified door card, to take rather large speakers, lol http://img465.imageshack.us/img465/9980/matchams0218nv.jpg si
charlton
the only trouble of making smaller boxes for subs is the with the air volume of the boxes, if you get the incorrect air volume you will end up decreasing the bandwith of the sub and could end up making your 12 inchers sounding like 8 inchers. It all depends what your after really
charlton
nice examples tho!!!
lockys96
not really, depends on the output in power as per size of the sub
cookci
id be interested in a stealth box to cater for a single 10 or 12 or perhaps some 6*9's the box would have to be light in weight ish
cookci
i.e. the top picture
Tricky-Ricky
Would it not be possible to fit a couple of 8" subs either side behind the rear passenger panels, did this on my old s14 and it worked really well.
nickyboy
When the guys on supraforums tried this they could not fit the 12". But they were making specifically so the targa top still fitted in the boot. I'd be keen for a single 10.
Nic
Designing the sub box so you could still fit the aerotop and also not get in the way of a rear strut brace (if fitted) would be a good idea.
charlton
not really, depends on the output in power as per size of the sub Obviously if you increase the size and power of a sub it will sound louder, but if it is not housed properly it will not perform to its full potential and punch the bass out as well as it should be with the lower bass notes
lockys96
to fit around a rear strut brace would be a bit of a problem.not a ideal location for that

charlton
loose the boot lol thats what teh back seats are for I'll drink to that, check out my garage, I've been working on a full boot install. It needs carpeting and I'm thinking of upgrading the subs & amps to make it look better
