JustGav
Erm, Are you sure it is a V160 gearbox in the NA? Your best bet is toyota / lexus...stick to the proper stuff Gav
Guest grahamgoodship
i'm not sure? i was just reading some old posts. i have just seen its only for 6 speed boxes. now i don't have a clue about gearbox or diff..... G
JustGav
Got grab the details off your vehicle plate and put it up here... It should have something like V160 or W58 Gav But in the mean time, how many gears does it have?
Alex
Diff oil - Motul Gear 300 or Silkolene Syn5 - speak to Opie Oils on this bbs. Gearbox oil - not sure what's best for the NA - but it's NOT V160 oil in the 5speed manual. IF you have the 6-speed NA then it would be V160 oil. JustGav
Alex, that is what I was getting at as well... I've not seen a 5 speed NA, but then people are doing plenty of box swops these days... Gav
Alex
There IS a 5-speed NA the 6-speed NA was introduced after the facelift - standard good quality gearbox oil should suffice in the W58 5-speed.
JustGav
ahhh... learn something everyday then Didn't know they did a 6speed NA.

imi
Spoke to Toyota today in Isleworth, they had no idea what V160 was, they thought it was an Auto gearbox. Plus they said that they normal use some Esso gearbox oil from a drum supplied by a company called Cemko................
neilg
Just been and bought 2 tubs of v160 today from toyota (well ordered) £61.90 for the 2 including VAT part no 08885-01306.

It took a fax from Toyota GB to convince them they needed to put V160 fluid in.

neilg
how big are the drums? Not 100%. Read from other posts on here you need 2. Are they 1 litre tubs and the box needs 1.5 litre. Im sure someone will correct me if im wrong
Keith C
youre in dartford ....which dealer did you use, i want to try them tomorrow morning, and perhaps you can fax me the fax Sorry - I didn't get the fax, it was sent direct to the dealer. It was Jemca formerly McCarthy in Sidcup. They'll put V160 in, it's just you need to specify it. It's also about £25/litre, and comes in 1litre bottles. imi
Tried to call Toyota @ Seven Sisters three times today, was on hold for 5 mins each time, never got through to the parts dept so left a message and they never called back. I decided to venture down in person and ordered 2 bottles of V160 which will arrive in a few days...... When I got there 4:30pm the girl said that the parts dept had closed early (normally 5pm) as there were too many deliveries for them to sort out....you can imagine my reply to her These Toyota Dealers are useless....Honda Chiswick were in a class of their own....
