My career is investment casting. Typically, turbine blades for jet engines or gas turbines.

How are the gears manufactured in the Toyota gearboxes. I'm now in a position to approach my direct manager and ask for the possibility to do trials for other industries.

My first consideration, was improving transmissions.

As my company does single crystal components for super high temperature/force applications, I was assuming there would possible be some material and casting process where I could improve the weaker parts of of the transmissions. Perhaps even change the ratios.

I'm going to be approaching this topic next week.
