left foot of course! a nimble bit of left foot braking while going through the autobox stood still on the driveway always impresses :)

The fluid must be at normal operating temperature, so a simple warm up is not enough, a god run is required. On level ground hand brake and foot brake on start from park and go through all gear position, passing through neutral each time. Probably over kill but I do this twice. Then with the engine running in neutral check the level. If you have to add fluid, Repeat the gear selector sequence before checking the level again.
