£75.25 to fill my tank!

That was a shock. But I am sure some one out there can beat it.

3*40l tank £120.00

£66 is my record but only had the supe since may and only done a few hundred miles

aircraft fuel is 28p per litre...and it will make your car fly!

I think the most I've put in is about £68, and the light had been on for about 10 miles. I usually consider the needle reading 1/4 of a tank left as being fill up time.

I had just under half and put in £47 in today in my 1998 jspec na.... Used my tesco 5p of a litre voucher for my super unleaded so price went down a bit Still expensive though!!

According to my UK owners manual, the 2JZ-GE engine has a 70l capacity and the 2JZ-GTE has a 80l capacity. Does anyone know the J spec ones?

nope! and i am getting 40p/mile for my big trip tomorrow - so it's not all bad.

It's meant to be 80L for a UK and 70 for j-spec if i remember right...although I've put more than 70L in the VVTI before, i think they're the same to be honest as I've had a UK too

On another note i dont want to teach people how to suck eggs (thats my trick) but you shouldnt allow it to get too low as you dont want to be pulling crap through your fuel lines causing you problems. But sometimes it cant be avoided.

My work van runs on fumes as i cant be arsed to keep filling it up.

Never let your tank run low fill up above half way mark then never looks so bad

P.S. the rate this is going on won't be long before another fuel strike takes place to reduce prices again

I've had over 70quid in my jspec sup before.

im getting 350-400 miles to a full tank in my SZ(and thats not being gentle with the gas either)...is that normal..coz everyone said dont expect much in terms of fuel econemy but to me thats f*ing brilliant!!(better than any car ive owned and i was expecting it to be the worst,hell my old saxo drank more!). my mate in his skyline gts which is litrally identical in terms of performance can only mangae 300 at a stretch.

is that normall..does everyone find it the same in thier SZ?????

seriously im not joking or exadurating....i brought the car from sunderland and drove it back to reading (315miles)

i filled up from fumes,put in £60 and drove home...now i just got the car so i was 50/50 between playing and taking it easy and i made it back to my door with bit under 1/4 of a tank left

and had similar experiance driving to santa pod. my mate used half a tank to get there in his gts skyline(101miles) and i only just used a 1/4

Are you sure your odometer isn't still clocking up in kms? Some do - and I couldn't ever get that kind of mileage. I get about 240 miles per tank - 300 odd on motorways. Never ever 350-400.

I've owned a lot of cars, and the Supras fuel gauge is the worst ever. Its what I would call random at best. A quarter of a Supra tank is a rather abstract concept.

fair enuf..i havent had it long so im still getting used to a few things and you may be right in that the gauge is random at best(have noticed it takes a while for it to realise i gave it sum fuel)...but undinably i did 315 miles and i didnt run out of fuel watever the gauge was reading(be it acurate or not!) i then drove a futher 13 miles to get sum good fuel the next day so thats 320+ to a tank np

As I said - your odometer is clocking kms.

Most people get 200-250 miles per tank. Multiply that by 1.6, and you get the figures you are quoting.

nope...my odometer has been converted to miles!

before i did my journey back from sunderland i google maped it and satnaved it and both of them said its a 315 mile trip...so regardless of my odometer and fuel gauge, i physically travelled 315+ miles to 60 litres of petrol!

any ideas as to why??...dont get me wrong im not complaing but if it could be a problem id want to know

Are you sure? Quite a few cars have a speedometer that works in miles, but the odometer still clocks kms.

If you can regularly get 400 miles from a tank then miko was correct and your car is clearly magic.
