What makes an auto stall?

Anyone ever had their auto stall on them?

I'm getting it everynow and again but cant find the cause of the problem. The car is fine when your foot is on the gas but when you pull away slowly from standing still the revs are droping and there is a splutter. If I put my foot down it pics up and pulls away but if there is traffic in front of me and I cant pull away fast then it is stalling.

I was told it was a dirty throttle body, so it was cleaned. Then I was told it was some sensor to do with air intake, so that was cleaned. Then I was told it was a dirty air filter, so the gause was changed. The car has been ok for the last few months but now it's starting to stall again. Any clues??

had the same thing too. in the end i changed my transmission fluid, and cleaned the sensors that go into the gearbox for the traction control believe it or not. seems to be fine now. give that a go, simplest and cheapest solution. the sensors plugs into the gearbox from the side, pull it out, clean it, and plug it back in. simple as that really.
