wrenlea
Would anyone be able to advise the correct/acceptable torque for the three nuts on the studs at the top of the pipe on a Supra Twin Turbo RZ I am attempting to remove them and having finally got a proper socket I am having to use a torque wrench to get more leverage. I am up to 110 ft Lbs and begining to chicken out Thanks
bignum
Have you sprayed any lube on them, it will help, 1 of mine was so tight it unscrewed the stud out of the downpipe
RobSheffield
My best advice would be to apply constant and gently increasing pressure from a large breaker bar to get some leverage on it. thats in addition to what Bignum says about lubricant of some kind - WD40 is ok, but Plusgas is better, Dont, whatever you do, try to shock it or try to 'bounce' the breaker bar!! They come off with a bit of a bang too!
wrenlea
I have yes, thanks. It's just that having read on here about sheering studs etc I am dreading doing the same. In theory they should come off alright as they were only put on some 50 weeks ago. I was going to give up today but maybe if I spray more on now and leave it 24 hrs it might be easier. At least that will give me at least one more use for my 14mm deep socket.

bignum
I did have to put a short extension pipe on my ratchet to give more leveridge iirc and watch your knuckles when it does crack,
