Squealing at certain rev range

Hi guys,

Getting peeved off with this to say the least! Getting a sort of squealing sound between 1600-1800rpm when in motion. At first I thought I could be rid of it by spraying some WD40 around the pulleys and belt. Now although this did actually make the tickover of the car quieter, it hasnt got rid of the squeal. I am pretty sure this is coming from the engine bay so not a wheel issue. Any ideas?

Cheers,

Jase

You could draw/paint/crayon/tipex a line that crosses the inner and outer parts of the crank pulley and then see if the outer part has moved in relation to the centre after the car has been run.

If the outer part isn't there it's safe to assume that the pulley is ripe for replacement. :)
