Crank Gear Removal

Hi,

I cant really find specific information on this so thought Id ask. In the rebuild Im at the stage where the crankshaft needs to come out. The gear that drives the belt at the front needs to be removed. Can this be done with a gear puller or is a specific tool needed. If so, does anyone have a drawing for it so I can knock one out at work today :D

Cheers!

Luke

Usually just heating it with a hot air gun will expand it enough to pull off by hand. DO NOT damage or loosen the crank trigger star wheel that's very poorly attached to it. I TIG weld them on when I do an engine build and turn the weld down in the lathe. If they become loose they can affect timing.

Thanks for the tip!
