Noob Question about boost

I Just realised today my TT is only going to 0.7bar boost - there must be a way of turning it up but being my first turbo car i dont have the faintest yet .

Dont shout :p - can anyone explain it maybe ? Its a j-spec what is considered safe on the standard tubbys ?

Cheers

Looks like an AVCR you have there. Can you get some decent daylight pics of the controller? It can run as much boost as you want it to but we need to have full specs of your car in order to recommend what is safe.

For some background info have a read here: bpu

I think homer is right, first pic looks like an AVCR but could be one of numerous Apexi products as many are the same shape.

The second pic is a control for your gauges and their peak warning sensors, etc.

With stock j-spec tubbies you are safe to boost them to about 1.25 bar max...AS LONG as you have the supporting mods, ie walbro fuel pump, decats, FCD, etc.

it's the apexi version of the defi link controller, just controls the guages... I have one.

you will need a boost controller sir, if you do not have one already.

1 bar if you are a gentleman, 1.2 if you want to push the issue, no more.

check that the boost does not climb out of control - called boost creep - (keep an eye on the apexi boost guage there).. it may happen in 4th gear and over if someone has dicked around with the exhaust.

first stop is to find, if not fit a boost controller.

ps whats the box ontop of your steering column? turbo timer?

Yeah turbo timer is on top .

It does have a walbro fuel pump i know that for sure and yes that below the stereo is the apexi SAFC 2 . It also has one decat , the second one i think and the RLTC .

I think i may wait until better weather now for the boost controller 0.7bar is enough really for a new owner at the moment i think - i just thought that 0.7 bar was a odd number for it to be set at .

Im a bit embarresed at how little i know about my own car(even if i've only owned it a week or so) . Gotta spend more time lurking here and learning .
