Fargo
if i knew then what i know now about jap cars, i wouldnt of bothered wasting money on supercharging an IS200, then moving onto a nitrous powered IS300. i would have gone straight to the supra, actually thinking about it i paid 15k cash for the first one then another 5-7k modding, then px'd for a 19k IS300 put most of the mods onto that and eventually sold up for 10k (after selling off the mods of course). wow, what i could have acheived with 40k on a supra... Pabs
I know...http://www.whifbitz.co.uk/fstoyota.html and we've got Jurgen too. Totally agree with you there mate - I went up to see Jurgen when my mate picked up his supra from him - very impressed I must say - if I ever decide to import (rather than buy one already in the UK) then either Paul Wiffin or Jurgen WILL be my source! I just want to make sure i do my next car justice - I'm really peeved with myself as I had this lovely SEAT and used it for commuting, it now looks like I haven't looked after it at all - dents, dings, kerbed alloys. Nothing like the way I tried to keep it Still - i hope my next job will be more local - and then the car won't get quite so wrecked!
jimwire
We have both an RS200 Altezza and a Supra tt. The altezza is fun and comfortable but it is nothing like as good as the supra.
Pabs
ah ha - thanks for that. Would I be right in assuming that your Altezza is standard? Ever thought of putting some more power into it? Surely more power would make it more fun, and perhaps a better car? Or not?
Nic
An Altezza + turbo kit (done properly) is going to cost you a lot more to buy than a TT Supra, which kind of cancels out any economy difference of the 2 cars.

Thought about upping the power but have no need as we have the supra for that.
Pabs
gotcha - cheers chaps. I'm not really worried about initial cost of car - it's the running of the vehicle that would worry me, as I want to a) keep it in good condition and working order and b) still be able to afford the petrol/tax/insurance on a yearly basis for a good few years. I will forget the Altezza for now then - maybe one day - but at the moment I seek something a bit more "fun"
jimwire
Altezza is fun. Just if your looking to up the power at any point you might as well get the supra as it's much easier to get more power out of and it will also start off with more power.
