umm, what boost do you plan to run?

Howmuh HP dp you want?

with a 78, AFAIK they are similar comp wheels to a 66-67 trim, but the A/R on the hotside is alot bigger= more lag.

But id still go for it, try it out.

Once persons "LAG" is anothers "wait till the bugger comes online"

what sort of injectors, the titan kit comes with only 1 supra pump, and with an option of 1000cc, or any injectors choice AFAIK.

What about wideband?

IMHO,Id think it over, its not something to rush.

Definetly something to think about till March, i'm not too bothered about the lag as the Supra is a motorway beast anyway, i never fly round town...

Thanks for the opinions guys, i think a wideband will be needed, aswell as cam gears? I want to run a .68 a/f ratio, apparently good results are had with that setup.

Also alot of the US guys run the MAP ECU and can help with that side of things. Will i need to install the Greddy head gasket or is stock ok? With this turbo kit you can run 650bhp with stock internals. Does that seem right?

Right, your not making sense here paul.

You cant get a .68 A/R(no a/f) ratio on a 78. well not from the factory anyway, if you are meaning to modify the hotside for s smaller one, then Id check with greddy as, youll want to make sure that the .68(which I assume is garrett/presicsion) will mate to the 78, wheel clearance.

If that is wehat you are trying to achive, id just get a proper sized unit from Precision. as I personally think that .68 might cause you probs with a 78,(surge) sounds nice, and should spool alot sooner, but why the hassle?

Is this what you mean Paul?

I assume 650hp ia achiveable, thats alot of power BTW.

Id stick with stock gasket.

why dont you just go for a ENVY/SP kit, you seemed to be well impressed with Kevins car? :)

Still need to speak with Kevin about there turbo's, just doing alot of research at the moment, when do i bolt it on etc and do i buy the lot in one go or purchase parts through the year...

I posted up this spec because i have been given such a good price on the parts, give me a pm Usmann and i'll have a chat with you more about the turbo side of things and the price etc.

I was thinking about another turbo before when mentioning .68, christ a T78 running that...very quick spooling!

Stock head gasket, why do Greddy include one then, is it not needed? It would be better if we didn't have to fit this.

Amen to that tel.

Glad you didnt mean that, as big comp sides with small hotsides are prone to surge, which is what this would have been.

Paul, if using the biggest/readily available HG which is the 2MM, it only drops comp to 7.9:1, what do you think a 1.6, or other sizes would gain you??

Answer is not much at all.

again, Id do some more searching paul, as .68 is just ratio, for housings, which as we all know can fit a range of wheels, .68 is not just a turbo.

Itd be eaiser if you could PM me, with you answers mate.

Reading the US boards they seem to think the T78 is a great street turbo, and that it's not as laggy as some think! They compare it to a 67, i'll have to see Michels car and get an opinion then.

Kevs SP car is great, but i think his turbo package is too much for what i want, it's one hell of a turbo! Maybe a slightly smaller one though like the 63.

Something to think about over winter :)

TBH, I cannot compare to a 67,67 is the compressor wheel size,in which they are similar, the ratio you mention is a turbine ratio. .68=spool/ .81=power

Lag is relative, PAUL, things can be done to help reduce it.

I think personally go with the T78, try it out.

But there is a Issue with DP/MP I think, check first.

Dont just go by what you read!

Paul, give Chris at HyperSR a call and have a chat with him about his Supra and it's T78, some spec and a pic of it here but he should be able to tell you how easy it is to live with, I suspect Michel hasn't has chance to put many miles on his yet :)

I'm still fancying an MR2 with a T78/T88 so as you can imagine I'm not too bothered about lag ;)
