Gaz Walker
Where does the $100m of Ron's money go ?? It's not small change... Don't they only have to pay something like $50m or so though, because the fine was based on how they would have done in the championship? FIA said they'd use $50m for a development fund: http://www.formula1.com/news/headlines/2007/10/7038.html Gaz.
ivan
In other words, it's to help the FIA make even more money when they introduce F1 to India etc...
neil tt
I think its just getting a little silly, anyone that leaves a company is going to have info on the other company, thats part of the reason why the other company wants them:d
Gaz Walker
Renault let off the hook... God damn double standards again for the FIA: http://www.fia.com/mediacentre/Press_Releases/FIA_Sport/2007/December/071207-01.html
TLicense
Funny isn't it. Bernie said that McLaren should feel the full force of the law, but when it's Renault that are in the stocks, he said that we should sort it out between ourselves. The bloke is absolutely ruining the sport.
ivan
What a coincidence - Bernie and Flav are both Directors at QPR.

Pixelfill
what a Joke. The FIA really need to get their act in gear. How can they ever be seen to be even handed when this sort of thing happens. 11. Decision 11.1. For the foregoing reasons, the WMSC: 11.1.1. finds Renault in breach of Article 151© of the International Sporting Code, 11.1.2. imposes no penalty due to the lack of evidence that the Championship has been affected. how did McLaren benefit from the Ferarri information ? Pixelfill
Out of interest, The fourth drawing (a drawing of McLaren’s so-called ‘J-damper’) was used by Renault to try to have the system that they thought McLaren was using declared illegal. This failed because Renault had certain fundamental misunderstandings about the operation of the 'J-damper' system. How can trying to use information to get technology banned not be affecting the championship? Mike
colsoop
Wasn't it true that they couldn't prove Mclaren benfited from the info but were still fined ? Yet Renault also have the same ruling made against them get off scot free.

juanchan
That's an absolute joke! I've not read the entire of that article yet, but there's too many double standards for anyone to respect Bernie or the FIA anymore. I'm actually more and more in favour of the top teams creating a breakaway series from F1 as time passes and more BS like this is thrown up.
