M4RK RZ Posted November 3, 2007 Share Posted November 3, 2007 Hi chaps - So im just about to get a HID kit form ebay still deciding on seller tho. going for 6000K 9005 HB3 now.. I want to do all the nights (not fussed about fogs tho) Side lights x4 and full beam half beam. Do I have to buy the extra bulbs - do I run these thro the balasts? and if so do you splice in or is there a certain balast to get with extra outs? Or do I go LED white side bulbs? Nic Posted November 3, 2007 Share Posted November 3, 2007 Mark, you will need 2 x HID kits (bulbs and ballasts) for the dip beam and main beam. So in total you'll need 4 ballasts and 4 bulbs. If you have J-spec headlights you need 2 x 9005/HB3 kits, they will be a straight fit without any modifying. For the side lights I would use LED's. jamesmark Posted November 4, 2007 Share Posted November 4, 2007 I found that the blue coloured bulbs were the best for sidelights, but it is getting the right amount of blue correct so that it is not actually blue when they are on. jamesmark Posted November 4, 2007 Share Posted November 4, 2007 Yes they are normal style, my personal opinion is that it pointless for full beams to be HID unless you really do a lot of night driving, you will not be able to flash people because of the delay in them warming up.
