What Do You Pay

Just being nosey as to what sort of rates per hour people pay the garage that they trust out their. My local garage charge £24 per hour :) and also charge half hour rates as well. I only use the garage for general work servicing, brakes and shocks etc, any major mechanical work i would take her to a more specialist garage. Just want to see what difference their is at different parts of the country......

£30-£50. Depending on what needs doing dictates who gets the car.

I think too many 'specialists' think that because a car has a pointy nose means they can charge stupid money or that becuase it's a 'specialist' market their knowledge can be found nowhere else.

Any muppet with spanners can fit a single, swap suspension etc. It's the fine-tuning that should be charged the most for. The mappers and geo experts, for example.

I agree with what u are saying the local garage that i use my supra is the first they have had their hands on so to speak i am happy for them to do general repairs but i would hate the idea of them learning on my car should their ever be a serious mech problem. I would feel more comfortable putting the car with some one who has spent a good few hours under the bonnet of the sup.

im not sure what the hourly rate is, but a radiator swap cost £30, a cambelt and pully belt swap was £60 getting my brakes done tomorrow so i will let you know of the cost for new pads fitted with braided lines and 5.1.

£60 for two belts and the labour? The genuine belts I got put on my car cost over £100, then labour on top!
