Muffleman
Right, time to hook up my xbox360 to my broadband and join the throng of sad gits that play xbox online , problem is the router is in the opposite corner of the house to the xbox Can't be arsed to lay a great big cat5 cable around the house and wireless, well wireless isn't very stable. So, going to put in a homeplug kit. Was looking at this one http://www.broadbandbuyer.co.uk/Shop/Reviews.asp?ProductID=4747 but 14mbps doesn't sound very fast, would it be okay for xbox ? Bear in mind because I live four thousand miles away from the BT exchange, my internet connection is a 512 connection. According to the router, I actually get 900 odd sometimes but that's it ! So, is 14mbps okay ? Cheers Matt

Muffleman
Cool, thanks Edd. I installed them for my two bosses in their homes and they have been faultless. But seeing as the company paid for theirs, they went for the all singing all dancing 200mbps versions. Being a pauper (that has to pay for his own stuff) I think I will go for the cheaper one
tonyhawk
Could you post your opinion on the plugs when you get them; I've heard differing opinions so I'd be interested to know how you get on? If your DSL connection is 512Kb (0.5Mbs), then 14Mbs won't be your bottle neck. Tony

Plugged one in by the router and plugged the router into it. Then plugged another one in by the xbox and plugged the xbox into it. Worked straight away, no software, no drivers etc etc, just plug in and go. Been faultless since. Hardly a long term test But they work and it was a hell of a lot easier than running a cat5 extension
