De cat or not?

:search: Can you help me make up my mind on whether or not to de cat my pipe completely? I've had a very nice 3 inch pipe made & fitted that did away with the 2nd cat but I've still got the other one in the engine bay. I presume getting shot will up the bhp but will I then need a boost controler, larger intercooler etc etc? :taped:

no need for BC or even a larger IC if you have a J-spec , I would decat and stick in a 1 bar restrictor ring and just run on 1 bar to have a faster car (faster than stock ofcourse) and keep the turbos safe with 1 bar ;)

Hi mas how you doing mate? Take you dont recommend running jspec at 1.2?

Hi Surj, long time mate.

I think if you want a healthy twin turbo working for a good few years then better not to run too high on boost although Im running on 1.2 but I believe its still better with less than that really ;) but hey what do I know about supras anyway? :D

I've done it all, intercooler, boost controller, fuel pump, HKS head gasket, exhaust and did a full de-cat. Threw out the jspec turbos and fitted stage 3 hybrids. It's set to run at 1.2 and sounds awesome! yes it is loud if you like to drive with a heavy foot, otherwise it just sounds deep and throaty. I've been followed a few times by police and never been pulled over because of it (yet). lol.:eyebrows:

Whats the deal with the De-Cat's? Is it really worthwhile getting rid of both CAT's or is it only necessary to get rid of one?

What are the benefits of having both done?

The only downfall is obviously MOT failure but that shouldn't really be an issue ;)
