carl0s
Have you tried zoomplayer, does allsorts of aspect ratios. I love it I use Media Player Classic for everything. Have a look.. does all aspect ratio stuff and allows you to look into codecs in use etc.
Guest gzaerojon
Shall I buy something like this? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320169473580&sspagename=ADME:X:RTQ:UK:11 that sounds perfect, in fact it's better than mine you will be able to play avi files straight from a usb stick saving the need for burning them to disc, and thus saving blank cd's and thus saving the planet

It's only a housing though. You'll need to buy a regular 3.5" HDD to fit inside it. It's not a DVD player.
far
Yup, the only thing with this though is I will have to plug/unplug everytime I want to upload a new movie, where as the other dvd player option I can just plug my portable usb hdd and away I go! Thanks for your help FAR
