My 402kW @ wheels VVTi 2JZ-GTE Soarer

Hi Guys, i just thought i'd post up some pics of my VVT-i 2JZ MZ20 Soarer.

Significant development over the last year or so has seen power climb to 402kW (538hp) at the wheels on 22psi.

I use twin KKR380 turbochargers (as i sell these) sitting on 1.5inch steam pipe adaptors bolted to the factory exhaust manifold. Usual 3inch exhaust, intercooler, Sard 800cc injectors, Haltech E11 V2 ECU etc, etc.

Engine mods are limited to 272 exhaust cam and custom regrind on the inlet side (still with VVTi fully operational) and aftermarket valve springs. The standard inlet cam is not the best for making decent power.

Anyway, just thought i'd show you that you don't need to spend mega bucks on Garrett turbos and spiffy exhaust manifolds.

Cheers

Grant

Any details on the manifold adaptors, like photos and stuff, and prices if you are making them to sell? Thanks. I just love the way you Ozzies think outside the box :) Is the Haltech controlling the VVTi? How much smaller a base circle did you end up with? Any probs with it trying to spit out tappet shims if you have to use very thick ones?

Thanks for the comments guys, trust me when i say this conversion and build up has been a long and costly one but as you can see the results are worth it.

I will upload some more pics of the car today.

I will also dig up my photos of the manifold adaptors. To be prefectly honnest the adaptors were a piece of cake. They are just 1.5in steam pipe sections. I have had the manifold, dumps and adaptors ceramic coated (black) so it looks nice and neat. I am pulling the setup off and trial fitting it to a JZA80 next week. Once i know our big compressor covers clear the bonnet on a JZA80 we will put them into production. No confirmed prices yet although they will be significantly cheaper than most setups. I am also takign it to the drags to see what it will do. Then its time for some smaller compressors. While 400kW is nice i really want a setup that has massive midrange.

If you guys want to know more about our product line up log onto our website at http://www.otomoto.com.au. Feel free to ask any question also.

With regards to the camshaft modification i don't have specific specs as my tuner Pulse Racing worked with Cam Tech here in Australia on this and yes the Haltech controls the VVTi. Aparently this wasn't as easy as first thought also.

I will up load soem videos of the dyno pulls and drag racing when i have something special.

Cheers

Thats very nice, could you not modify it to fit a 1JZ, the 2JZs have far to many options already:d

Stay tuned!

We have a similar setup on our 1JZ-GTE powered drift Silvia. It uses our smaller KKR280 turbochargers as we want response for drifting rather than bulk power.

Attached is a copy of the dyno graph and two pics.

Oh yeah, well done to England.

I'm not really fussed as im originally from Scotland.

Cheers

Indeed, after all the recent posts referring to cr@p welded manifolds, this could be interesting.

Oh, and welcome.:)

PS, mention rugby if England loose tomorrow and you'll get an instant ban:d
