Facelift rears

I've replaced me pre facelift rear light's the other week with some facelift one's only things is now when I switch the lights on I only have 1 single light that work's on each side? The one which work's is the same as the brake light.

 

Has anyone had this before? Or can anyone suggest where I need to start looking please?

Your other two brake lights weren't wired as fog lights before where they.

 

I only have 3 brake lights the other is wried as the fog light.

My pre facelift were yes but when i connected everything up and fit them they were all working as they should! It's just now I only have two which stay on?(one either side)

Don't know if its relevant but on my '93 UK TT only one light each side comes on and it is the same as the brake light. If your facelift lights are UK ones this would explain it. Its the same with Celicas. Imports have 2 each side, UK cars have 1

It sounds like someone has done the fog light mod on the facelifts. Have a look at the looms on the lights and see if they've been cut and taped.

UK's have a different light layout to the jspecs, facelift or otherwise. UK's never got 'facelifted' as sales were discontinued.
