New dials needed?

Tom

Recommended Posts

My current MPH dial is wrong and I need a new face for it but before I order one I jsut want to check that nothing else needs to be changed.

Currently the speedo (in mph) goes to 100mph where I presume 160 or 180 would be? so Im having to guess what speed im doing at the moment!

Is it just a simple case of changing the face of this dial?

Also I have noticed that when I change gear the revs raise a little before each change, could this be a sticky throttle as it does seem to take longer to drop the revs when you give it some gas in neutral compared to the mini.

Thanks

Tom.

hmmm...I think the only other thing I can add is that a couple of times i'll accelerate a little and the revs will just climb and pause there a little while even if I have taken my foot away from the peddle, tbh I beleive the clutch is fine and that its just the throttle slightly sticking.. I hope anyway, the cars done 55k miles, is this a normal sort of time for the clutch to go if it is that?

You will need a delimiter and re-calibration thingy m8 ) get the combined so you dont need two lots)

I have one here

I do the dials - you can go replacement or el glo

You might find someone has just bunged a new dial face over the old one, in which case you can just remove it and fit a proper delimiter/convertor. Worth a look before you order new dials.

There's soemthing else I've just remembered after searching and thats that odo actually reads in miles and not kilometers, does this mean everything could have been changed over?

Everything seems kinda strange!

I'll let you know heckler!:)

I get this it only raises by say 200 RPM if that. I thought it was just the load being released from gear box allowing engine to rev up little from no load.

seemed to be my driving style from going from my old car. It still happens with me now. but no where near as much.

and i bought m ycar almost 2 yrs ago now and mine definatly aint slipping! My revs take longer to drop then my escort as well.

hmm this does sound odd.

I just sorted out my conversion problems and the mph by buying a uk dial cluster - 80 quid from the breakers... plus you get to keep the KPH! My old j-spec is sitting around if anyones interested in a bunging me a few shekels for it.

If you are having problems, then speak to Pete Betts, he has done all sorts of electronic wizardry, or get some bling gauges - one of my next purchases (I have been saying that for a year - I dont by much for my supe)

Yeah this is exactly the same, every gear at low speeds, could just be my driving style too, if I take my foot off the gas for about half a sec before changing gear its fine.
