Time for a service

My Soup is ready for a service was just wondering (being a bit of a newbie) if it was ok just to take it to my local garage for it or whether anyone would recommend taking it to a specialist performance car garage or something like that. If that's the case can anyone recommend any in the North West area (lancashire preferably).

Also does anyone know of anywhere in the area with a Dyno? having probs losing power and need to know where from.

Cheers

yo fellow northern dude

i am up the road in morecambe and would strongly recommend you take it to someone such as Chris Wilson, i learn the hard way with the local village idiots who nearly knackered my transmission putting nearly 2 litres to much fluid in !, this was at a time when i knew very little about the car, if you are not into doing the work yourself i would get a major service done by someone like Chris who knows more about supes than most people on this board put together, it would be well worth the drive and you would be able to sleep knowing the work is 100 %, the problem we have oop norf is these cars are pretty rare so not many garages (if any) become familiar with them

How do i contact Chris then? Ill give him a bell see what he can do.

I know what you mean bout them being rare up here Paul. Only seen 1 other since i got mine and thats here in Preston as well, imported at the same time as mine. Where do you get your parts from??

Cheers for the help.

Sorry didnt understand what you meant with the parts. Is the company called "All Parts"? [/b]

no mate nothing that complicated, West End Toyota, just your bog standard run of the mill toyota garage, there not concerned whether the cars an import or from mars they just sell you the bits at a reasonable price

i have'nt heard of collins performance and dont think they would be in morecambe and if they were certainly would'nt have thought they would be any good with supes seeing as theres only me and another guy with a black uk spec, perhaps they had an old mk2 supe 15 years ago so are "experts"

The only Collins Performance I have heard of was inthe Cogleton area in Cheshire, they were run by a John Collins who had a sex change and announced one day to his rather bemused staff that he would henceforth be known as Sue Collins. He / she was specialising in Sierra Cosworths I believe. I can't offer the fascination of being Christine Wilson next week, but I can honestly say I specialise in Supras.

I do all servicing, tuning and modifications EXCEPT bodywork and trim. I am NOT into 19 inch rims, super low suspension and "bling", I like to send a car out that handles, stops and goes at least as well as Toyota intended, and preferably a lot better :p

I don't have flash premises, courtesy cars or receptionists, but hopefully offer high quality work at a fair price, in safe and well equipped surroundings.

I do have a well equipped small machine shop and 35 years experience of race cars, both driving and running, and high performance road cars. I specialise in engine building and suspension development. I make and sell a small range of bespoke tuining parts for the MKIV Supra and Nissan Skyline, which I sometimes add products to. I am flexible in working hours and will run people to and from the local stations or whatever, and offer hospitality to those who want to wait for smaller jobs. I am fully insured, both for road testing, theft and public liability.

I have a wife who understands me.... who makes good tea and coffee if she's around, and I make bad tea and coffee if she's not.

I am easy to find, despite being a bit out "in the sticks", and can furnish you with proper directions and full contact info if you care to e-mail me at

[email protected]

or, if you e-mail me your contact phone number, I will call you at a time convenient to yourself.

I do not take text messages, I am a mobile phone ignoramous and refuse to learn how to respond to the damnable things :conf:

Hope that helps, I look forward to speaking to you soon, I'm sure I can help sort out most of your requirements. Cheers.

I've been taking my car to Chris for the past four years and wouldn't use anyone else. His Professionalism, knowledge and attitude are unrivaled and you know you're not going to be ripped off. Not only that, but he makes a mean bacon sandwich too :)
