Banged up the arse yesterday!

Not having a good run of luck at the moment, left work yesterday afternoon on my Suzuki GSX600F, pulled up at a round about down by Havant college near my work, was just about to pull away when then next thing you know I'm shunted forward and trapped by a bloody Renault Clio on an 06 plate.

She hit me that hard that my number plate and undertray was pushed right up and underneath the seat of the bike. Her Clio seems to have come off worse though, shes going to need the bonnet sorting, a new bumper, foglight housing and grill.

I was actually taking the bike to be serviced when she hit me, so I've been able to get a quote for the work almost instantly, looks like it's going to be about £200-250 to sort it out with a new undertray and numberplate etc...

I'm a bit pissed off at the moment, but that's life.

Lots of college kids about to witness it, as well as a copper who stopped off to see if I was alright too, so some reliable witnesses, with her admitting it was her fault to the cop and then claiming that she missed me as I'm not a big fella, erm OK!!! lol

Anyway, the bike is in the garage at the moment, I need to phone her later to give her the good news about the costs! I think that is a bit much personally as I've found an aftermarket undertray for £90 that I can fit myself I would have thought, so I may well suggest she pay me £100 rather than going through her insurance, but I'm not too sure. She's more than likely going to have to go through the insurance due to the damage on her own car.

What do you guys think?

I'll speak to the garage later and get a full run down on what needs replacing/sorting as when I spoke to them last night they mentioned nothing about the subframe, just that it would need a new undertray and plate. It's the genuine Suzuki replacement undertray that is where the main part of the cost lies and obviously the labour costs as well I would have thought.

My thinking is that I can get something that looks better and that I was going to change anyway, killing two birds with one stone so to speak.

Yeah, you could be right, but after something like that you need to check everything out, subframe, swinging arm, wheel, shocks. You can't be too careful with a bike.

I know where you're coming from with the mods thing though - I'd be streetfightering it if it were me...
