Just seems a real hard way of doing things trying to do it upside down and if youve got the gearbox off and rad out with the timing cover off you are so close to pulling the motor , in fact it prob is not a lot of difference in time with getting the subframe out .personally i wouldnt even attempt it on a ramp as the amount of time spent underneath has got to = major backache , still you got Oxy there for a quick rubdown  How long till its back on the road and any sign of what caused the failiure ???? unusual for a sup bottom end to start knocking or does this look like it could have started dude to low oil level and the infamous Abbey leak !!!!

Dude:flame Dev

Not too much of an early start thanks mate, as we were waiting on other people..........but yes you are right it did = major backache, and we now feel like a bat covered in oil..........

Yeah I agree wid you Si. :)

Out of all the engineers that looked at my car when I had oil gushing from my car, Paul has been the only one who sorted it out. Since he repaired the turbo oil feed, I have had no more instances of the car losing oil, or smoking after I turn it off.

When I started to get knocking in my engine, I took it to paul and he told me immediately, what was wrong and what he needed to do to rectify it.

This problem has been caused by the initial oil leak and as Paul solved the original problem with that, I bought my car back to him work on my car again.

Thats all well and good and yes it has gone a bit off track...But seeing as nearly all of the posts (by a certain member) have been edited or removed ..the full picture is now not here for every one to see...so yes it now looks as everyone is doing a pile on on job on that member....never mind eh ..lets move on:thumbs:

Where did what Come from Terry?

Paul is excellent he treats peoples supras like its his own car, he's not full of bullshit, I've had a few few things done by him and he explains everything and gets you involved....his record for correcting other mechanic's mistakes is faultless, yes everyone makes mistakes (like overcharging, using customers cars as personal transport, siphoning petrol, and charging for work that clearly hasn't been done, charging for parts that dont need replacing etc etc etc) Paul has never even so much as lost a screw...!

Plus he posts pictures up and explanations of his work in detail if they are not in attendance...this is of great help to others and also will help the 'Have a go Mechanics' out there so dont knock him!

Hard Act to follow for most isn't he.

:p

(not having a dig at you personally Terry but you know what I'm getting at...!)

Si all I meant was there was no need for your post. AFAIK no one was actually saying tha Paul wasn't a good mechanic were they?? Just because people dont agree with what he said doesn't mean they are all having a go at his ability does it??

Si with the JPS thing I offered to check your car FOC? Jeez, get over it!

Ashley, read the thread, Paul made a very aggresive comment directed at Vortex, hence Matt's post.

Dave, all anyone did was pick up on some dubious techinal info. If you think that is pulling the guys ability to pieces so be it, but please note I personally never said a thing.

And relax...................

Get off your high horse Ashley.

IMO, there are people on this thread that have offered genuine constructive opinions to Paul. In return Paul has edited his posts to make it look like everyone is picking on him, and he has retalliated by trying to have a pop at Vortex.

I posted a humorous comment to lighten the atmosphere, whilst defending a company I have a vested interest in.

I assume you have a vested interest in Pauls work Ashley?
