Chris Wilson
Bog stock, save a pair of mild cams, road engine. EVERY engine I build is that clean. less so and it's not worth starting the job. That's why it's often cheaper to just sling in a good used engine that's never been apart if the customer is on a tight budget. Doesn't matter if it's an old Anglia engine or a late F1 engine, dirt will kill both, pronto. Suprash
Secondly Im quite dissapointed in everyones attitiude around this place at the moment. Paul is actually a great guy who knows alot about cars, and I have floated around some of the best mechanics to be involved with Supra's including the likes of Dude and JPS, and Im telling you know I love my pride and joy as much as the next Supra owner and only want my car in safe hands, and I wouldnt let it be with anyone else except Paul. Please we was just trying to make Oxy's hard times in Supra ownership a little more interesting to read with some stories and photos of what real people do with their cars, unlike IT keyboard warriors with nothing else better to do then sit on the board 22 hours of the day. But next we wont bother and we will leave you lot sit here grenading each other, it makes the board so much more interesting to read guys. I remember when I first logged onto the board over 2 years ago, and it was always fun, you lot are enough to make me think otherwise............ dude
Water slopping around the plug leads will lead to misfires it will never get past the plug into the C chamber !!! diff story when you change the plugs though , if its not cleaned out its got to go somewhere , if you had oil on the plugs its prob come up past the rings , so thats a complete rebuild , as the crank HAS to come out i cant see the reason for leaving the block in the bay . Ash if your that concerned for Oxy then try listening to people , it is NOT possible to rebuild an engine that is knocking with the block in situ , the crank is fucked , IMO i would not regrind a jap crank it will never last and the reason there are so many different bearings is that the crank is matched to the block and the rods to the crank , each journal needs individually measuring and a bespoke bearing purchased , thats after buying a new crank and oil pump . Ash you are missing the point dude , how are you going to determine the correct bearing size with the block still in the car thats if the crank is not oval , for which it needs taking out and checking and if the plugs are covered in oil its prob because the bores are glazed and the rings have lost their tension Dude:flame Dev

Whoa, steady on there fella. As far as I'm concerned we're friends. I really don't know Paul but he seems like a good guy from what I've seen of him IRL, but all that has absolutely nothing to do with this. Firstly, nothing I said was to you anyway. Secondly nothing I said was in the least bit insulting, unless the you're on about the Mycroft joke and if that's the case you want to lighten up a bit mate. Yes now I agree with you oil when plugs are FITTED.. not while running as your 1st post came across.... no one is hamering your capabilities......just the way you worded them. TBH I've had many high performance cars BUT never have I heard of plugs letting in oil from the rocker other than the plug seal is shit or they have not been done up properly..but sorry if i offend ....everyone has the right to speak:thumbs:

Please tell me how you can take the crank out while its attached to the flywheel wich is in turn connected to the pressure plate which in turn makes it a right arse to do...if you can do this i would like some info as i have been doing it the hard way for many years now??????
