Okay I'm dreaming here  but I was just surfing and found that JUN do a 3.3L Custom Kit for the 2JZGTE engine, which includes JUN pistons, shaved crankshaft and con rods.

Just curious to know what performance effect this kit would give over the stock internals, for details go to:

http://www.takakaira.com 'Performance Parts' then 'JUN'

Also does anyone know what the standard bore and stroke of the 2JZGTE are?

cheers

Nic

All the parts are lighter than stock which allows you to run the normal revs despite the lengthened stroke.

The extra litreage basically gives you more torque and the engine can take the pounding of aftermarket boost levels.

The kit is created in conjunction with Cosworth and is top notch as far as aftermarket stroker kits go.

BUT you probably don't need the full stoker kit. With a set of Rods and pistons you could still run loads of boost and just get your extra torque from upping the boost! :D

The JUN piston's should accept the introduction of the sweet High lift 272cams and the full valve train kit which go with them.

PS buying from Jun direct is quite easy have a look at their website, http://www.junauto.co.jp

This is maybe a stupid question :baa: but looking at the aero bonnet on the Jun site, I think it looks good but would it not let water in to the engine bay? I have thought this about a lot of the vented bonnets, this one looks as if it would channel all the water straight in, or do they have drainage underneath? Anyone got this kind of bonnet, or similar?

BTW isn't the translation priceless, I particularly liked the 'epoch making body reinforcement..' :D

[ Don't know about the Soop pattern hoods but, AS STANDARD,

the bonnet 'vents' that were on my Escort RS Turbo did NOT have drainage.

the N/S vent poured straight onto the Air Filter box - which happened

to be 'split' vertically !?!

the O/S vent poured straight down onto exhaust manifold/alternator/

and alternator belt ?!?!?.

Having said that, apart from a little more 'fan'-belt squeal on wet mornings

and steam coming from the manifold at traffic lights, it never caused any problems -

and I was to lazy to do anything about it  ]
