Elmo
I know this has probably been aksed before but I have searched the forum but cannot find the answer. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TOYOTA-SUPRA-93-99-XENON-HEADLIGHT-FOG-BULBS_W0QQitemZ250146737348QQihZ015QQcategoryZ72235QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem I know that these bulbs are not a straight swap for the Jspec Supra, but can anyone tell me what needs to be done to make them fit? Cheers.
Whitesupraboy2
I would buy from powerbulbs and get phillips blue vision for same price, as blue vision give improved light and the nice HID look too. Search powerbulbs and you'll find the thread.
Elmo
Cheers, I'll do that. Do you know what modifications have to be made to the bulb to make them fit the J-spec connector or, will they fit as is?
Whitesupraboy2
the powerbulbs thread has it all in for you mate. very easy to do to make them fit, a hot knife will sort out the little bits that need to be taken off
PaulD76
I brought these exact bulbs and they went straight into my 96 SZ import (jpec facelight ive been told) these are my headlights (http://www.paulandsharon.fotopic.net/p6921658.html) I am very happy with them, they look very nice and give an improved brightness and look. Postage was about a week which is 'OK' but not stunning. Not seen the Philips one so cant comment.
Elmo
I brought these exact bulbs and they went straight into my 96 SZ import (jpec facelight ive been told) Hi Paul, nice car mate, especially like the colour. When you say you bought the exact bulbs, do you mean the ones off eBay? If so, what are they like, brightness, colour etc.? and do they look chavvy? They are very cheap at £15 for a full set, the same number of Philips bulbs is £60! so it makes wonder about the quality, I believe you get what you pay for. PaulD76
The bulbs are the exact same ones you link too, from AceParts (via ebay). I think it worked out at about £18 including postage. I wasnt sure if i would like the look, so i figured i could afford to lose 18 quid. Delivery was about 5 business days. I think they look great, not chavy at all. This is also what i was affraid off. They look very bright white with a hint of blue (altho i think you can get other colours). Fitting took about 1 hour but thats mainly as i did it in the dark and I am crap with cars The only thing i dont like about xenon light is that during the day u get a blue reflection on the lights, but i dont think u can avoid this.. If you want I am happy to take some photos tonight and post them on my page.
Elmo
Cheers Paul, if you could take some night photo's and post them on your site that would be cool. I swapped my headlights at the weekend so I'm now familier with fitting the bulbs, actually easier than I expected! Cheers, and look forward to seeing your photo's
PaulD76
Here are the pics. It actually proved prettty difficult on my mobile and its hard to capture the blue tint. Mainly the lights look bright white and when ur a certain distance u see the blue tint. I am very happy with them tbh. For the sake of 18 quid its a pretty safe risk. I would be interested to see the Phillips lights but im pretty happy with these. http://images3.fotopic.net/?iid=ypzx71&outx=600&noresize=1&nostamp=1 http://images5.fotopic.net/?iid=ypzx73&outx=600&noresize=1&nostamp=1 http://images4.fotopic.net/?iid=ypzx72&outx=600&noresize=1&nostamp=

Elmo
I just remembered, as mine are pre-face lift J-spec I need 4 HB3's, nearly ordered the wrong bulbs then!
Elmo
Received my eBay Xenon bulbs today and fitted them, took about half an hour, they were almost a straight swap I only had to trim a couple of mm off one of the lugs (passenger side), here are the pics. For £20, I think they're a bargain, well chuffed
