Guest GirlRacer!
Oh my god am I mad?!! I've just booked a charity skydive for 15 Aug!!! Feeling soooo excited at the mo (which hopefully won't turn to fear in the next few weeks!!) It's a tandem jump (they let you go from higher up that way!! no mini 3000feet jumps for me! LOL!) Apparently, the jump is from nearly two miles up and freefall is at 120mph!!!! WOW!!!!! It's gunna be so much fun!!!!!! Has anyone done it before / got any words of advice?! (apart from "make sure the guy with the parachute is strapped onto you before you jump" which I'll definitely be checking!!! It would be really really great if you could keep any freak skydiving accident stories / vid clips to yourself though - or I'm in danger of chickening out!!!!!! haha!! DaveK
I bought one of these as a present once - for someone who was my g/f when I bought it, but my ex by the time she used it. I remember that she cried while she was waiting to go up, but loved it after she'd done it.

I don't want to think about the chute not opening!! So you had to pull your reserve?! I'm glad you're still here to tell the tale! I think I'd be too busy panicking to remember what to do if that happened! I'm jumping from Netheravon near Salisbury (hardly the most glamorous location I know!!!!) I really want to do it in New Zealand but I'd probably be waiting til I was 30 or something til I could afford that!!!! So I figured I should just go for it now! ooooooh!! I'm so excited thinking about it!

Guest GirlRacer!
I'm doing it for charity so as long as I manage to raise £395 then it's freeeeee!!! I'm hoping I'll raise much more than that though - my friend at work managed to raise a grand for walking 5km! Fingers crossed anyway - I'm up to £220 in two days so that's not bad! Fargo
395 ouch, costs 205 where i go (banbury) for a tandem, anything raised over that is of course your charitys. you will love it though, such a sensory overload the first time, ie your in a plane with no seats, then once youve got used to that, they open the door and yet another sensory onslaught, then of course you go through the door....................... I think the jump only costs about £250 but you have to raise £395 so there's enough going to the charity to make it worthwhile I guess! I'm glad some of you guys have done it lots before - it must be great! I just know I'm gunna love it!!!
