Shane
I hate computers!! Since I have been with talktalk I have been usung a "mercury" modem router. Had a few problems with access lately but put it down to talktalk being crap. As I am off sick today again I decided to look at the internet when I got up and yet again the connection timed out again and again. Called Talktalk and Raju in India told me that my internet was working perfectly.....when I asked him to explain why I couldn't download my emails or access the web he said it ws my antivirus software out of date. Told him I doubted that that would be the problem and then tried another pc in the house and that didnt work on the same connection either. Anyhow, to cut a long and painful story short I spoke to the it guys at work and they said that they thought the router had died as the ADSL led was solid but nothing was coming through. Ended up buying a new netgear router for £69. it does work now though. I wonder why the telephone support of these providers is so rubbish. NTL was as bad and we use BT at work and they too are rubbish. I was cut off twice and then had to go through the whole thing again with Raju's relatives and still didn't get it resolved by them. Very very frustrating. anyone want to buy a clapped out router/modem.

Stonkin
because so many companies are now providing all of their technical support from foreign countries where they can get cheap workers. Trouble is, they know jack all and are purely glorified receptionists! Agree, very very frustrating.
robin
To add insult to injury they are sometimes premium lines or at least 0870 ones which charge at a higher rate. Shocking.
Paul
AOL are the same, I must of spoken to Raju's cousin twice removed, didn't know a thing. It's not just that they are taking jobs from the UK, they are useless as you say. Oh, but they've all got degrees
