matt k
Just wanted a few opinions of uprated pads and discs on UK spec brakes, I'm running stock at the moment and they need replacing so should i stick with stock or go with aftermarket?
edge
Unless you want to spend a fortune on big brakes theres no point as the uk specs are fine, just get some fast road pads and some red paint and a few stickers from ebay then no one will know Edit - just read your post again. Yeah get some fast road pads.

edge
Some people have got the porterfield pads and like them, also chris wilson does his own fast road pads which people seem to like and there well priced. Just got some for the rears but yet to fit them.
grahamc
I have gone with CW fast road pads, braided hoses and it feels really good. not really had the chance to see how hard I can push them... Eventually I want to go for some uprated discs as well, mintex perhaps. Also looking at a full refurn kit for the calipers.
grahamc
This was brought up in another thread about brakes... SteveL
Matt, it really depends on what you though of your current setup and what plans you have for the car? If its only going to be road use, and you never felt 'let down' by your current setup then stick with it. ( There is a lot to be said for the uk setup - as I'm sure other members will also add. ) I used uk brakes, stock discs, porterfield race pads, RBF600 fluid and braided lines for a long while - mainly road use and the odd track day and couldn't fault that setup ( I went from uk stock setup ) . n boost
hello mate, i used some black diamond discs and pads, they felt like a waste of money. Loads of brake fade and one lap at donnington the discs warped. To be honest it comes down to your driving style. I would go with stock over some aftermarket discs and go with decent pads, 5.1 fluid and braided hoses. I now run 8 pot calipers and ferrodo ds2500 pads and 356mm discs. The best money i have spent on her. After all, u can not put a price on safety.
