Lee S
Discovered something today about my seat belts, wondered if any one else has simular thing. When ever its really hot inside the car my seat belt some times doesnt retract properly and locks in a loose position. but when I press red release button it then reels in even though it wasnt holding the strap back! I assume there fore that there is a micro switch inside which is linked to the recoil mech on the reel. any one able to confirm this?
JamesG
When the seatbelt locks, it only prevents it extending further. It should still retract. If yours doesn't do this, I'd look into it as a matter of urgency. The seatbelt retractor is purely mechanical.
Lee S
Yes I beleive that may be the case but I kid you not, when the clasp is released even though there is no pressure on it the belt releases and winds in,
