Jive
Hi peeps, cut a long story short, bought an item off of Ebay about 4 weeks ago, messages going back and forward about the item not arriving. Went on holiday last week and before we left I sent an email asking for them to chase the post office for the parcel and send me a cheque for the item as it still hadn't arrived Last night I sent another email asking what the situation was and looked at my emails this morning to find this. "Hi as you may Appreciate questioning on Answerings to the product you pay for using the Royal Mail as a courrier surface to post your wanted parcels to a specified Address is Harder to Accomplish A clear method on their procedure to offer A R efund on Items Unspecifiedlly Paid for Amount or Standard £30 no more of Worth of An Extra Value optional X-tra charge put on you for Coverage . That's copied straight off the email, anyone any good at deciphering that and putting it in plain english? I've emailed her back but still confused dot com

sdavies
Reads as though they are saying you should have paid more for delivery option to insure the item. They also seem to be claiming that they have some for of recorded delivery receipt. Not sure what they are on about, how much was the item worth? Talking some weirdness about £30 - *if* it was sent Royal mail standard parcel rates, it will not have been recorded for delivery, but they will have had a receipt of goods sent at the post office if they requested it - but with that they will still be able to claim up to £100 for goods lost (although I am not sure how long that takes to sort out). The rest is sort of a lament on - what am I supposed to do about a parcel that goes missing with the Royal mail? Essentially I think they are alluding to they are not happy as they have posted it and have a receipt of posting, and will be unlikely to help you much further. Not really in the spirit of things, and also the most awful use of language I have ever seen

Gamer
If you used paypal then the onus is on them to prove that they sent the item. If it has in fact been lost then you should be refunded via Paypal and the sender will have to make the claim to get refunded by the mail carrier that they used. I suggest you do not fanny about and get the Paypal claim in now before time starts to run out. Let paypal deal with trying to decipher that gibberish that she is spouting. Jive
Well unfortunately it was paid using a cheque because they wouldn't accept PayPal It was a Black & Decker multitool, got it for £25 including P&P of £10 which should I thought was quite good, not recorded though. In B&Q the same thing costs about £50 so half price was a bargain .. seems as though I'll just have to start a dispute Oh and btw, the user is from Wales if that helps explain that email

Gamer
You should still be covered via eBay, put in a claim that way. Here is the link you need. http://pages.ebay.com/help/tp/inr-snad-process.html
Sparky
Sounds to me like your getting scammed! Ive had this before. you pay for an item, you send the money and you sit back and wait thinking the person on the other end will sort it all out no probs. Then it starts.. You dont recieve your item and you complain (As you should) and they reply in a dodgy translation made by a computer program basically saying tough shit you should of given us more for postal insurance. Last time this happened i went to the address and 'aquired' my item which funny enough was still in their flat. (Threatening them with a phone and 999 dialed in usually helps)! This trick is done alot and they stay in temporary accomodation so they cant be traced. F***ers... TBH you're going to find it hard to get your money back without taking this to the next level!
